They're really good. Sometimes great.

This is a cool feature. Just yesterday the "List of people who disappeared mysteriously" page helped to a) kill a couple hours and b) creep me the hell out.
Dan's lionizing of Generation X was definitely tongue-in-cheek. I think he's actually being pretty self-deprecating throughout.
Yeah, I thought that was a pretty weird description of what went down. "Surprise attack"?
My favorite of the year so far is Radio Fragments, Mark Brendle's book of prose poetry. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes achingly sad, sometimes a third thing maybe? I highly recommend it, as well as his Twitter (he goes by @brendlewhat:twitter ).
I know, but there our too many people who have said those same words sans irony.
You're probably being sarcastic, but just in case… we shouldn't be doing this to anyone, no matter what they've done.
He was excellent on Homicide: Life on the Street (though I guess everyone in that cast was). He's particularly great in season 5's "Have a Conscience".
I only appreciate foxy, elegant bachelors.
I don't understand what you mean and I could really give a fuck.
…and Carrot Rope.
Everything about that story is awesome.
Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks. 1996 album that features various acts from the '90s (Pavement, Ween, Lemonheads, Biz Markie, Man or Astro-Man?, Buffalo Tom, etc.) covering Schoolhouse Rock! songs. I loved it in kindergarten and I still think Pavement's version of "No More Kings" is the fucking truth.
I doubt that, and I think saying that rap "relied on using the music of others" is an oversimplification/misunderstanding. However, I'm actually trying not to be such a flippant asshole toward people online, and I think I failed here. So, sorry. I'm working on it.
That's a total myth, though. By all accounts of those involved, Kurt did some background vocals and that's it.
I was going to ask if Donald Trump or Ann Coulter ever offered a mea-culpa regarding what they said/wrote about the Central Park Five, but then I remembered who Donald Trump and Ann Coulter are.
I'm glad this film will be reaching a wider audience. It will be great if movies like this, The Confessions, and the Paradise Lost trilogy awaken more people to the existence of coerced confessions and wrongful convictions. It's especially crucial that young people see them and understand how broken our system is.
Live Through This doesn't do anything for ya?
"I think it's because rap, as a genre, is not very interesting." "I don't care for rap." "…if I like the music I can listen to this in my car without embarrassment."
Ugh. That's just as simple and silly a reading of reality as the "Free Whoever" trope you're making fun of. Angela Davis was innocent of the charges brought against her, and saying she "provided the guns" is terribly misleading.
