Exactly! :)

McDonalds is the Nickelback of the culinary world. A lazy, cultural touchpoint that people can say they hate, whilst ignoring (or enjoying) a hundred other things that are just as bad.

Fortunately, most people here are too swept up in important things like the Macklemore backlash to have time for any homophobia (or, apparently, to see that the guy did a really good thing here).

It's a dude honestly speaking his mind about something important, what else do we want? And yeah, a rapper on the verge of the big time (as he was when he recorded this) does have something to lose by making a pro gay rights song. It's easy to talk about this stuff when you're already Kanye. If you don't think this

He's got the monkeys! Let's see the monkeys!

Anyone who wastes time complaining about popular pop music is missing the fucking point entirely.

Honestly, just go and watch any YouTube video of Noel Gallagher talking about anything. He's brilliant.

I accidentally saw him live once, and that headline is absolutely correct. The show was 50/60% cover versions and he and the band performed them all amazingly well. I've never particularly cared for his songwriting but he's a fantastic performer and he clearly knows & loves music.

Ah yeah, they're not all impenetrable mysteries or anything, but at least they're mysteries. Like seriously there's almost no deduction involved in the way His Last Vow resolves itself. He pretty much just handles it the way a Jason Statham character would.

Honestly, I think it's partly their own fault (the Sherlock team, I mean). For one, having 3 eps every 2 years sets up ridiculous expectations. It also just isn't as good as it used to be. Without getting spoilery, the show has moved too far away from clever crime stories, towards being all about how much Holmes and

Is it me, or does the above Wish You Were here write-up read as "Jesus this is a terrible movie in theory, but not actually".

Don't you got any Christmas music?

He's also in Ramin Bahrani's next film. I don't think You_promised's thesis is holding up well here.

I really liked a lot of things about MoS. Right up until the Royal Rumble, "three cheers for Superman and the apocalypse he's brought to Metropolis" finale, I thought they made some great choices; tonally, cast-wise etc. As a superhero origin film, I'd say it's about as good as Batman Begins (and TDK is without doubt

> so far nothing indicates that this movie will be good

Totally. In terms of "evolutionary dead ends", trip-hop is pretty much the grunge of electronic music.

I think the difference is between making a contentious statement about something, and overtly calling certain people out. Banally framing it as "Electronic music vs rock music" was a bit annoying as well (whether he intended it to be or not).

That might bear out if he hadn't actually written, "It's good to piss off Gen X and dadrock fans." in his own edit. None of this matters particularly, but the first sentence of his comment was a direct response to the article. "Sorry Grungeheads, Britpoppers and baby boomers." was *clearly* an attempt to start an

Oh I agree completely about the pointlessness of downvoting. I'm just saying that, unless it's his first day on the internet, he can't honestly be suprised when he decries "Grungeheads, Britpoppers, baby boomers, Gen X and dadrock fans" (i.e. a decent percentage of absolutely everyone) and gets a negative reaction.

So he was preemptively debating people who think that only their preferred type of music is important by doing exactly the same thing? Even though he was the only one actually doing that?
