Seriously, stop.
Calling one thing the new something else is the new not calling something the new something else. So, seriously, quit that. It's stupid and annoying.

The Shining is not a bad place to start at all. IT and The Stand are pretty bad ass, but also very, very long. Any one of those would be a fine place to start.

Gah!! Spelling error in the subject! Fail.

I'm only about halfway throug it, but…
This is hands down the best King novel I've read since he wrapped The Dark Tower.

Jesus H Christ on a Bike
RBI is already plural, you inbred motherfucker. The term RBIs is the functional equivalent of saying Runs Batted Ins and makes you sound like a downs syndrome baby who types with his syphilis ridden cock. I hate you and hope you die of AIDS.

Not to mention "Mac's Banging the Waitress" happened LONG after "Mac Bangs Dennis's Mom."

The Royal Tenenbaums is possibly my favorite movie ever and people who don't like it aren't allowed to be friends with me. I use this as an acid test for girlfriends. I shit you not. If I show The Royal Tenenbaums to a girl and she doesn't like it the game is over. I might still bang her, but it's not getting past

YES. Also Goonies or Red Dawn.

Actually, Skull, last night they were advertising FRINGE TOMORROW on one of the green screen boards behind home plate. That's the only way I knew Fox planned to air new episodes tonight if the Phillies lost. Stupid Phillies, (grumble, grumble)…

I would have done that but my girlfriend watches some other crap on Thursday nights (Flash Forward, Grey's Anatomy… I don't know) that caused problems from 8-9 and 10-10:30 (can't miss It's Always Sunny!).

Yeah, I actually had to watch this live because my DVR couldn't understand I only wanted to record the part of the baseball game from 9-10.

Very X-Files…
…right there at the end. I mean, even more so than usual. A solid episode I thought, though I could have used SOMETHING from the big-picture story arc. Getting some back-story on Broyles (I always want to call him Daniels, natch) was what bumped it up from a B to a B+ tonight.

I thought this episode was pretty good. It only had one joke, but at least the joke was funny.

Clowns are Scary
I saw IT when I was 10 years old. I had night terrors for years afterwards. Scared the shit out of me.

I did not enjoy the Star Trek reboot. I thought it was a big, dumb action movie that happened to ape some of the names and settings of Star Trek. If they had made the exact same movie without any of the Star Trek decals slapped on the side, I probably would have had fun. As far as Star Trek is concerned, I'd rather

Ohh, if you click through the link to the Dan Feinberg article he gives some props to Number One.

Not sure about that scenario, Jake, but I know that Dollhouse is VERY cheap to produce, relative to most other shows. That's probably the only reason it's still around.

To clarify, I'm referring to Priya after Topher puts her original imprint back and sends her after Nolan. Also, is there a different term to use there than "original imprint?" It seems like there should be.

I caught Frakes's name as well and shouted "Commander Riker!" He also directed First Contact, the last good Star Trek movie, so we know he's got some skills.
