Chumps on Parade is still fun to listen to. Press is just a bit too sophomoric, even though Hoosier Love will always be their signature song.

Literally nothing stands out to me from You In Reverse. But at least "Nowhere Nothin' Fuckup" from their first album is a classic. The song "Built to Spill" is also pretty nice.

I mean, if you're going to just keep/own one Big Star album, it might as well be the disc that actually contains the entire two-album output that was released while the band was still a going concern. (But man, you should go get Third/Sister Lovers, because the sound of a crystal-perfect jangle rock genius rocketing

That song is a straight up jam.

Oh shit, I didn't notice that and I've watched Season 1 twice. Good catch.

Thanks for checking in! No, I have not. The day peaked early. All downhill until unconsciousness in a few hours.

Thank you. Now I don't have to express my umbrage and demand my money back from the author.

Mike Judge has a knack for naming soulless corporate tech farms. (See, Office Space, "Initech" and "Initrode.")

"Bitch, you don't speak horse" is the best thing I've heard today. So far. And it's early. But still, best.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what *it* was. Now what I'm
with isn't *it*, and what's *it* seems weird and scary to me. It'll
happen to you…

It's Tom Waits for me. His lyrics are captivating portraits of humanity, etc etc etc. But I'm not reading a book, I'm listening to music. And his music is just unlistenably atonal.

I feel like I missed something - do we know what the Center's interest is in Don?

No, TKOL was made by robots, who by definition can't hear.

"You're not wrong, Walter. You're just an asshole."

It's at least recognizable as an album made by humans who hear and appreciate sound. Which is to say, a big step up from King of Limbs.

This show fucks.

In my opinion,

Kudos to The Good Wife's music director for informing me that Rhett Miller did an accoustic cover of Wave of Mutilation.

I think that's pretty great, actually. Cobain said that Teen Spirit sounded like a Pixies knockoff, and with that self-deprecating comment, perhaps thousands of Nirvana fans were turned on to a great (but far less popular) band they otherwise might not have known.

Can't lie, for me it was "Just Like Honey" at the end of Lost in Translation. I know that's just about as cliche as getting into the Pixies because of Fight Club's use of Where Is My Mind, but we all have to start with a band somewhere.
