Her story to Sally about when her own father kicked her in the ass for no reason at all made her motivations pretty clear.

Also, was I the only one laughing his ass off when Mean Old Grandma Francis took a tumble over the phone cord and was crying like a little baby? I felt a little mean, since she became a somewhat sympathetic character a couple episodes back, but not nearly mean enough to stop my gales of laughter watching the old bat…
