Thank you, John Hugar, for saying what has long needed to be said about this man and his spotty record: "At times, Pollard’s output, while impressive, is too abundant for its own good, making all of it seem less essential."

A truly terrible, uninspired name. Almost as bad as The Band.

Heard this great NPR interview with him on Easter; he really nails the Hank Williams twang, even singing a bit live.

Ok, I LOL'd at this. Good job, random internet being!

Speaking as a fan of Andrew Bird's first two records (and only those), I can confidently state that he has *definitely* mixed it up over the course of his career. His swinging, hot jazz tunes of those early records gave way to…something entirely different on subsequent records. It was an abrupt change, and though I've

Last year I happened upon a sweet first pressing of Lolita Nation at my local has-been vinyl shop and felt compelled to pick it up on reputation alone (and a vague recollection of "The Real Sheila" playing on 120 Minutes). So glad I did: not only was it near-bargain priced at just $11, I never realized just how much

I recall sitting at our table after school one day, eating a bowl of cereal (with milk on it) while also drinking a small glass of milk. A friend of my older sister commented "cereal AND a glass of milk??" My reply, I'm nearly certain, was "I like milk".

I never know what is "cool" to like any more, and with so much sarcasm here I just thought I'd make it clear that I'm a fan.

I love Bojack Horesman (unironically) and thus am excited to check this out. Will Arnett was on SiriusXMU this morning, spinning tunes from the show and "other favorites", and he's got great taste in music.

I saw this last night, and my first thought was, "hmm that bass sounds really clean, TOO clean in fact". So I wouldn't be surprised to learn that some of the sounds are actually synthesized and not solely due to marbles/gravity. (Not that I could build anything remotely this cool, just sayin').

"Musical"

Sounds similar to the SST records story. Rumor has it that Greg Ginn has been withholding royalty payments for years, and won't let bands buy the rights to their recordings.

I was very late to the Hedberg fandom, and once I understood his greatness said to my pal (a big comedy fan), "Hey when's Mitch Hedberg coming around/putting out more material?" It was then that I learned of his untimely demise, and I was surprised at how sad it made me.

All I want to know is if said Satanic Panic occurred in the Attic.

Agreed. My friend and I rewound to the part where she's in her bra about 1.73 million times.

She was probably still a lesbian back then, so I bet she might have minded.

Sorry, I should have specified: read and loved all the books. I think buying the season from Amazon may be my best bet. Thanks.

Any leads on where can this be watched online/streaming? As a cable cutter, I have no access/interest in acquiring SyFy in order to watch one potentially worthwhile show.

I don't usually give an especial fuck about Ghostbusters, old or new, but got-DAMN if that ain't a sweet ass Ecto-1 model. I'd even consider buying it, if it wasn't (EDIT: likely) to be priced at $399.99.

I have a distinct memory of leaving Disneyland one day and looking up to see a "Coming Soon" banner for The Black Hole above the exit. It was the first time I specifically remember being marketed to.
