I'm with you there, and I can justify it.  My parents used to play Anne Murray's version of Daydream Believer on the 8 track in their Pinto Squire wagon with me in the back.  And they sang along.  Loud.

A friend of mine used to do a spot-on impression of Peter Noone, in a faux English accent: "Welcome back to VH1's My Generation, I'm Peter Noone.  Here's yet another band that blew us completely out of the fucking water - The Hollies."

No, no. You were right the first time.  She is still super fine as she appears to be one of those rare women that looks better as she ages.  See also: Cybill Shepherd.

That is indeed a damn shapely mannequin.

Not to be confused with Aussie garage rockers Lime Spiders.  Both are terrible names, IMO.

Wrongo.  We just saw it Friday night and it was great.  Very interesting dynamic in the theater, as the opening is entirely silent and until the music started people weren't sure if that's how the whole thing would go. Most everyone was extremely courteous about being quiet, even though there was *less* to hear than

It just seemed impossible with so many others ahead of me!  Thanks for reading…

I bet you weren't expecting a reply, but I sorted by "newest first" to see my own post and came across yours.  It wasn't my first disappointment, but Bossanova was another record that I bought the first day it came out and goddammit was I burnt. Nowhere near as engaging and bizarre as Doolittle, and naturally it had

OK, I know nobody is going to read this, since it will go at the end of the other 1,229 prior "reasonable discussions", but I gotta throw my story in here too.  At the tender age of 14, I discovered my (then) favorite band Oingo Boingo through my older sister.  After buying cassette copies of all their early records

"Everybody's dying, bitch".

TCM showed the Vincent Price version of this story "The Last Man On Earth" a few weeks back, and though it was absolutely terrible I was compelled to watch just to compare the ending to I Am Legend.  It turns out about the same as VP goes out with a "bang".

How about the corner penthouse at Spook Central?

Yeah, with a come-on like that, I'm definitely tempted.

Brett Michaels…Jon Huntsman

Much like Obama sweet-talked us all into believing he was an actual progressive, Romney is currently "acting" like some kind of big-guvmint hating, gun-toting, tea partying conservative.  Truth is, he'd be a lot closer to a moderate Republican president than we've seen in a lonnnnnng time.

Looks like Kirk is awful close to dragging Old Glory on the ground there.  I'm not sure that would go over too well with the target audience for this "documentary".

I enjoyed both books and would very much like to see an adaptation, but I don't think there's enough there for a series.  Coupla epic-length pics a la LOTR should do the trick.  Though there is something to be said for how dirty HBO would make it, what with the nubile magical youth having sex as arctic foxes and all.

You're right, it did turn out well.  Nice piece.

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that as a kid, I never quite understood whether Hobbes was "real" or not.  Now as the jaded parent of a C&H fan, I totally get it, but at the time it was a mystery to me.

I made a (terrible) facsimile of this cover out of a piece of plywood and a bunch of welding rods in 9th grade metal shop.  It was not well received by the heshers in the class.  I think I got a B-.
