About those 15 seconds that Hank was walking to his car - about 3 seconds in, I realized his car was gonna explode. No doubt about it. The camera lingers on his key going into the ignition, and suddenly there's a phone call to distract him!

Holy shit for me too!

I dunno - I think Fring is the one who would have had Mike make the call. Fring was the only one that knew the cousins were going after Hank, so he would have sent Mike to give him fair warning.

… The Niddler?

I think you've already had one too many.

Yeah, some logical inconsistencies (well, the vast majority of them) on this show I can let slide. But the whole drama about what President Useless was going to decide seemed ridiculous. She didn't even try to conceal from Jack her ulterior motives for taking him off the case. I think she shouted "YOU DON'T KNOW THAT"

Inconceivable!
I can't imagine him singing and dancing in a role about American business and sexual politics in the 60s.

Very well-said, Tom. Very few shows can ever pull an episode like this off. Not only did they meaningfully address the mythology in the context of a stand-alone case, but they also dealt with time travel, which is probably one of the toughest sci-fi conceits to portray seriously. This was the first A+ I've ever given

I think you're missing the point, Doc. HE KNEW THE SHOW WOULD SUCK BECAUSE HE SAW IT IN HIS FLASHFORWARD!

Obama!
Don't forget Obama! We have to mention Obama! Multiple times! I'm pretty sure the only reason they kept Tony in the running was so that he could continue to name-drop the president.

Agreed. A smarter show would have spent more time building the tension, taking its time to show that the visitors were actually evil, creating a strong undercurrent of paranoia. The miniseries did a pretty damn good job with that 20 years ago. Today, we get this.

That's the only thing that has bugged me about the history on this show (and I trust that the writers will explain it eventually). Peter has said multiple times that he doesn't even remember being really sick and almost dying. Then he doesn't remember being 10 and being kidnapped in the middle of the night? Kinda

Agreed. Compare this show to something new like FlashForward or V, and it's just so clear that the writers on Fringe (2) know their shit and can keep track of continuity, (b) love the show (see: opening credits), and (c) have a plan at least somewhat mapped out.

Yeah, I loved that. She actually hides his "LAST KNOWN ADDRESS" from her boss as he asks her if she has any leads. Bullshit.

Anything will be more effective than the Parole-Officer-Jimmy-James Patented Boob-Grab.

*clears throat*

Ahh, D-
The gentleman's F.

flashbacks
Totally agree about the flashbacks/flashforwards at the end. They shoot all the future stuff in such a different style, I wish they would just trust the audience to know that it's happening in the future. It's so ridiculous seeing "TWO MONTHS FROM NOW", "TWO WEEKS AGO", "THANKSGIVING NIGHT" all parading

It looked like she had already been nailed repeatedly, so you're not far off. I bumped the episode up a grade just for that.

I hope they get Harper's in Antigua.
