Looks like Jean Ralphio and Marouane Fellaini had it out in front of Jewfromattox Courthouse, and nobody won.

The OP invited the comparison between megastar comedians and Tosh…I was just responding to that. As it happens, if I had to rank him, I'd put him in the tier just below the best comics working today: Louie, Jim Gaffigan (best clean comic working, bar-none), Patton, Norm - just below those guys.

While I disagree with Sega about the comedic merits of Mr. Tosh, I will agree that he swung and missed BADLY here. Like Michael Richards bad. He blew WAY past bold/edgy, straight to uncomfortable/unfunny.

While I understand how the frat-boy sensibility and straight-faced malice are turn-offs for some, I also think the show would be (or would have been) an abject failure in the hands of a lesser comedian - and that's not to say he's one of the all-time greats, or anything.

I feel like all the Tosh-hate in these parts has more to do with his audience, and less to do with his ability. His stand-up is great, far beyond the Dane Cooks and Larry the Cable Guys that you insist on grouping him with.

Yeah, by my count only 5 of the last 20 episodes have been good (although 2 of the 5 are all-timers: Andy Daly as Dalton Wilcox and the legendary PFT/Moynihan joint).

Bad improv isn't really a recipe for long-term success, thankfully.

It seems like they're trying to stay away from the usual suspects, which is fine. The real problem lately is with Howard's effort.

Knowing that it'd be a little more meta/inside-basebally than the usual CBB, I actually enjoyed this episode a little more than the first. Neither of them compares to PFT at his best, though, and I'm still a little aggravated that the original was voted best episode of the year with all the actual good improv to…
