I'm guessing VG would've went with Ozy had he not planted a flash forward at the beginning of S5.

If only Ozymandias was the finale…
Breaking Bad is by far my favorite show of all time, but Lost's finale was much better than BB's finale IMO. Controversial, yes, but I stand by it.
I ADORED Lost's finale.
"And I'm sure some of those who voted for Enlightened did so to be a little contrarian."
Yes it would be clickbait, but going that far would've made things obvious.
Walt won, Walt Jr. lost. Two different things, really.
He knew that he's been doing it for him, he was just in denial. I mean, he kept cooking even after having more than the 737k that he wanted for his family.
The train robbery was just fine for me, I thought the magnets and the plane crash were the ones that were just too much.
It really doesn't matter if they'll be getting the money or not. The victory was in Walt's satisfaction; as in his mind, his family will be getting the money.
Well, Marie and Jesse had it worse than Walt, which I'm not on-board with since it's Walt that started everything. Marie is now widowed and lost her sister in the process. Jesse was enslaved, had two girlfriends die (and he blamed himself for both), and doesn't have a pretty future in sight.
I tend to not watch new shows right away, though, out of fear that they may stumble at some point or end abruptly and make me feel like all the time I invested on them will be ultimately a waste. I'm specifically looking at the aforementioned two since Rectify is just a mini series and Enlightened is already over.
Agreed about the second paragraph but not the second third one. The "I did it for me" part was the best bit of the finale.
Yeah, I've read about the abundance of good stuff on TV right now. I haven't looked into most of them yet, though. But Rectify is what really got me intrigued. Now, Enlightened is on my list as well.
BB was awarded as the best show last year even though the first half of S5 was vastly inferior to this final half. I guess that says a lot about TV's overall step-up in quality this year.
Is it not included in the top 20?
I guess they wanted to steer away from the cliche #1.
The problem wasn't S5 trying too hard. It was that they didn't have enough episodes to flesh out everything in "classic BB" manner. The pacing suffered and they had too cut a few, albeit minor, corners in terms of writing. Even with those, though, BB was top-notch.
I thought they could've been given more time so that some of the choices that the show made wouldn't have been questioned by some. For instance, Todd talking Jack out of killing Walt in Ozy. While I have no problem with that since the scene was executed excellently, some still questioned the choice. It's not that big…
It didn't need an ambiguous ending, but rather a more tragic one.
