Kinda strange to think of Shakespeare writing fan-fiction… are readers of histories generally thought of as "fans"? Not to mention he wrote in an era where most people weren't even literate. It's doubtful that "fandom" as we know it was a thing back then.

You have a good point, but I doubt that Bruce sees it that way.

That's a good point. Hopefully it'll spare us lengthy scenes of one character constantly crying "MAH BAYBEE!!!"

I'd love it if the Justice League movie were a Wonder Woman POV movie. It's our introduction to her and her introduction to Man's World. Certain female superheroes will have some difficulty getting their own movies due to pre-conceived notions about the teenage male viewer market, but this way you can make a

Nah, Party of Five is more comparable to shows like Dawson's Creek and (ugh) Seventh Heaven.

Finished A Storm of Swords, then read A Feast for Crows in a night and a day. Already on the opening chapter of A Dance with Dragons.

He wrote escapist fantasy. In the end, HE was The Escapist. Which is okay in fantasy. In the real world, that has consequences.

I love how a commenter pleading "Let's not speak of Crash" actually initiates a whole long-ass thread on it.

I believe these are on Netflix: Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7, The Twelve Kingdoms.

I'm guessing that quite a few sitcoms have done this, but right now I only recall the one The IT Crowd did:

Note that they've covered MTV's Buckwild, Jersey Shore, and just this week, Perfect Score. And lots of other stupid shows. It seems to me that

C'mon. The writers here should be able to write about anything pop culture, as long as we get a good article out of it. This article was well-thought out (for the most part) and nicely explicated. I'd call that a win. And if your issue is that you disagree with the reviewer's point, well… they do give you a place

It's poppy and mainstream, sure. But I can't help it, I love that album. It's my favorite, too.

You never looked for her on Facebook? Wow. You're a better Ayatollah than I'll ever be.

Elegant Victorian Lady was at your screening? I hope you brought smelling salts, Doctor.

It is and it isn't. Reading the book, it's easy to see that none of the characters are actually superheroes. (Ozymandias may even be the one who comes closest to being a classic superhero.)

I like Kate Beaton but I don't think a movie script is really her style. On the other hand, if Cartoon Network should ask her to pitch an Adult Swim show….

A Black Widow tv series could work. Especially since Nikita will probably end its run soon.

I had a date to see Pacific Rim, but then she went and watched it without me. She's kinda flaky. I'm not that bummed out, for some reason. And last night we hung out and had a great conversation about Game of Thrones and Dexter. (Yeah, I know, but she just loves serial killers and horror and gore. Not literally.)
