What, you can't get Cornettos in America? That's weird, seeing as they're made by one of those global megacorporations (Unilever?) who generally sell the same kinds of food products everywhere. But not the U.S., apparently.

I'M AFRAID I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS YOU'RE REFERRING TO, BUT IN ANY CASE, I DON'T BELIEVE I AM. NEVERTHELESS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONCERN.

The Manchurian Candidate… and I've just remembered that Seconds is one of his too, so: make that the third-best Frankenheimer movie, etc.

Sadly, yes. Well, seeing as I've only ever seen two John Frankenheimer movies, I can in all sincerity concede that it's the second-best Frankenheimer movie I've ever seen.

Oh, it's a Mamet script, is it? That explains a lot. None of it good.

Yeah, a little. "Proof that most backstory is unnecessary bullshit" - well, maybe, but I think we'd grow somewhat bored with the movies if they all turned into these elemental style exercises.

Chris Kattan probably said it at least once.

No, Two Broke Girls isn't a sitcom - I believe it's actually some sort of cutting-edge, subversive performance art which satirizes the norms of the sitcom format and the expectations we have of it. Kudos to the performance artists in question for somehow getting their project funded by CBS.

I don't think it's unfair that this show isn't very well regarded by critics, or that it doesn't have any "buzz". The Middle it's good, but not great (sure, it's "one of the best sitcoms on television", but that says more about the current dire state of network sitcoms than it does about The Middle); the scripts are

To be honest, I actually do rate Watts' talents (though "Fuck Shit Stack" doesn't really do much for me, for whatever reason). Mostly, I just wanted to take a shot at the hugely overrated Minchin. Sorry, Reggie!

Well, I don't understand that at all, but I guess we like what we like. Anyway, I don't need to see Tennant back, I just need to see Smith (a.k.a. the second-worst Doctor since Colin Baker) on his way.

Hey, Bizarro Nick Drake, when I want your opinion, I'll ask for it! Math is hard!

Well, that's 300% more than usual, so: success!

Reggie Watts: the Tim Minchin of the North American music scene.

They should bring back The Good Life, with an all-new cast to draw in younger viewers: Dev Patel as Richard Briers, for instance.

Only if someone can go and fetch the 1970s version of Tom Baker to do the job.

No, old doctor, please - bring back David Tennant as the Doctor and I might start watching full-time again.

Maybe so - the truth be told, I don't remember the movie's structure very well, having only seen it the one time when it first came out. But I do remember at some stage wanting the movie to resolve itself in a way that provided, I don't know, "closure" for the main character; and when it became clear that we were

Okay, good point - I guess what I'm saying is, I got wrapped up in the not-real story; and when the time came to reveal the twist ending, I thought it was inferior (in each case) to the "real" story, or to where the story would have ended up if it had been a more traditional narrative.

I don't suppose anyone here will agree with me on this one, but my least favourite would have to movies like Memento and The Usual Suspects - in each case, I was more interested in the story I thought was being told, and felt cheated by the actual endings, which were just Nolan and Singer saying "ha! fooled ya, you
