The fact that killing Wells still pains everyone who watches the show makes the show better for me. I miss the days when the show was really unpredictable with who was going to live and die in the cast.

Agreed. But to me, painful would have been if he had hooked up with Cupid, which could have been a thing in Season 1 or 2.
Really? I kind of like jealous-Oliver and independent-Felicity. This is a guy who basically has presented Felicity with this hummer of a relationship: we can agree we're in love but we're never going to be together, we'll never be apart (like even during the day), just not together together because I have shit to do,…
I would love that, just have it come out that he knew all along. That would work for me and be great because you know it would make Oliver hate him even more.
I read an article somewhere about the biggest issue with the tech support character is that narratively they can really only do one thing, provide tech support from a desk. How do you develop a character when by nature they have one job and limited interaction outside of that role? Also as someone who coded for…
Yeah, the article seemed weirdly dated because current Arrow seems to be dealing head-on with the whole Felicity/Oliver thing with Felicity taking the rather awesome stance of not putting up with Oliver's bullshit and saving herself when necessary.
Every single episode he's been in Felicity does something overtly suggesting she's got a double life and it just passes on by Ray without pause. Like it did with her Mom when it didn't come up that she has the Arrow on speed dial. It's just funny that the writers are studiously avoiding any possible scene where people…
I wrote so many papers to the song "Two Step" back in the day that I still feel the need to find a thesis when I hear it. Not on this album but in the category of a DMB-admission.
The Mountain Men facility could be the next Bioshock game.
I'm playing catch-up so i just posted this on last weeks but yeah, same. I kept thinking making each character have two love interests from the get-go was a neat way to start a CW show, then they killed off Wells and I was sold.
Lincoln/Octavia are becoming this show's Laurel, I've just started fast forwarding through their scenes…
What sold me was starting each character off with two love interests, and then killing off love interests who seemed like long-term characters (Wells!). Not only did it create suspense but it was a great way to announce itself as "CW, but good CW".
Is Slate talking about Koenig's storytelling structure? Because I'm all for geeking out on that, and the Twin Peaks/Zodiac/Ira Glass influences. If it's just about the case, no one is going to top the crazy beautiful obsession level of some of the reddit people, especially the ones with charts.
She could have been a great villain…
Also another Jay… believe him or not, he runs this story and all its components of weirdness.
Hm, "story by" so there will be a story, that's encouraging.
That's a space station!
Try listening to it and then the new Damien Rice album back to back…. glass case of emotion.
If you're not following it, you should follow the Serial podcast. It's basically a live-action Zodiac, except the host and eventually you are Graysmith.
Agreed, but at the same time, it's kind of a cool moment for Felicity to have her own episode because it's the first time in the series where she's affirmatively establishing herself as independent, in the best way. She can still rely on others (her Mom, Oliver, Ray) but she can also save herself. And be more than…
