This was in Idiocracy right? I mean, it had to have been…
I don't think the test was designed to be or is perfect. I believe it was actually created as a joke, or at least accidentally. I also don't think there should be simple litmus tests for art. Art is not an acid or base, there can never be a basic test.
Don't make me chose between my sense of humor and my feminism, thenextpostiscorrect.
Yeah, it only is on what the interests of half the human population is presented as…
When is avclub going to pick up the serial podcast so we can all discuss it? It's so crazy addicting. And a more-than-welcome return to books on tape! Yay!
I loved the way they wrote Watson and Holmes in this episode — especially as to me, Watson was the more mentally-frail. She may have grown in her confidence but she's got some pretty major issues. Each time her and Holmes spoke, she cut him off when he tried to be about her (his offer to be her sounding board, his…
Oooh, maybe that's what the show is going to do — Joan/Bell and Sherlock/Kitty.
You'd think then that the autopsy would have shown that… But you'd also think I wouldn't think this much about a television show.
Also the most Doyle-esque. It was nice to have the season start with a proper Holmes mystery, and for him to say how rare they actually happen in the "real world."
He shall be free
I never have and disliked what I heard from him until "1973". I loved and still love "1973" and it's pretty-pretty piano opening.
Any cat would be proud to be called Dan Aykroyd. He wrote The Blue Brothers, Ghostbusters and Dragnet. Yes please do!
I guess that's my point. It's plenty. It exists as it is. I can see why you can reinvent Batman because it's an adaptation of a comic book and you can go a couple different ways with that. But this is a comedy classic, like "Joe vs. The Volcano" or "Clue" where yeah, neat premise, but entirely self-sufficient. Going…
I love "Ghostbusters." I have a cat named Dan Aykroyd. No I don't, but I want one. Actually I would prefer a dog but my landlord is a jerk.
This is a solid A- to me — different, earthy, rich with some killer stand-out songs. It reminds me a little of Damien Rice's debut in how arresting it is as an entire album.
I'm a lady, I don't need the NFL to get checked. Cancer is scary business. But I like the contrast of rah-rah-testosterone with princess pink accessories. I prefer to believe it's supporting gender-role-flexibility and tolerance in professional sports, which the NFL, NBA, NHL and major league baseball need desperately.
I'll miss the Archer reviews! Especially last years season finale, that was a great great review!
I remember being a little put-off it was a Jim Croce song, thinking Bowie was the obvious choice. I was wrong. It's great — not just for the lyrics but for the iconoclasm of a folk ballad over the slo-mo action scene/punk character.
Also unpopular: I would rather the movie be about Evan Peters as Quicksilver if it can't be about Magneto/Fassbender and Xavier/McAvoy. He killed it. I thought her parts were a little underwhelming.
