Death by bear is still a thing, I hear.

I found that detail with the car to be extremely satisfying on some level, I don't know why exactly. Maybe because the show always finds a way to defy expectations even in the smallest ways.

look at me…getting off!

This show has already deeply embraced the dark. From episode two on forward the amount of straight horror elements have increased exponentially. And I think embracing the horror of it all is an extremely good move on the creative side. Because the shit that's going down is pretty fucking scary.

Well, we're not at the end of the road yet. But I'm confident that it'll turn out the way you say it.

hence the sexy!

Holy shit that line of succession joke was amazing. That may have been the single best joke of all the jokes since the election. This joke was so amazing that I've already told friends about it who don't even know The Last Man On Earth is something that exists.

I'm always baffled by her looks alone. She looks like a crack whore got a makeover on America's Next Top Model.

I'm very happy that they found a way for Brett Dalton to happen again on this show - and not in a flashback. He's shown all kinds of range on the show. That's something I wouldn't have expected from me to say after the first half of the first season. He was a boring straight guy. He was a compelling bad guy, though.

Don't know about Dennis from a production standpoint. Can the actor handle a quasi lead role? He was barely a recurring character and I don't think he's been in anything essential.
At least in this episode he was coming across as rather bland, I think. And a new guy for Jane would have to have a nuanced, strong

I had to check on IMDB if that was really who I thought it was - Ron Funches. Good for you man, way to lose the weight. A good-looking man, he is.

This probably sounds way more promising to an A.V. Clubber than to a normal human being. Excited for this!

I agree. I mean, just in general, this isn't a pissing contest. So I concede to you that "straightforward" versus "experimental" doesn't necessarily have to have a winner. I mean, we'd agree that "Highway 61 Revisited" is more or less in the same wheelhouse as "Revolver", right? However, regarding the Netflix shows,

WHAT?!?! I don't have an Internet connection for a couple of weeks and they drop this on me?!
I loved Michael so much. Team Michael forever.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but the kind of potential this pilot promises easily surpasses Jessica Jones - which is my favorite superhero show. Far better than anything Marvel or DC have produced thus far - Legion excluded.

This looks and feels amazing in every way I can think of.
It can only get weirder because this is the pilot. And not on a Netflix show or something like that. This episode is supposed to hook viewers and serve as exposition. With that in mind: Holy Shit. That was all over the place.

I can't overstate how unnecessary this is.
Toni Erdmann is one of my favorite films of the year and pretty much perfectly does what it does.
What appeal a watered down Hollywood version has is beyond me. The greatness of the film lies less in the central relationship between father and daughter (which is a basic

To be fair: Timothy Olyphant is great in just about everything. So while it remains his defining role, it is not that hard to separate him from the part.
