Have we seen the end of the noble politician? Knope.

I see 18 albums. What am I missing?

That would make my summer.

How can people not draw direct comparisons to real life? For instance, consider honor and politics, at basically every level in every country. You think Rove created campaign lit before the 2000 election about McCain's supposed secret (black) baby (who was his adopted daughter) because it was the right thing to do?

My apologies if this turned into a possible spoiler thread. That definitely was not my intention. I was genuinely interested in what you guys thought about Varys and assumed I was being vague enough to not actually spoil anything. I'll try to be more cautious, especially because I really like reading these reviews and

Doesn't it come after the beheading?

And thanks everyone else.

I recognize that there has been a lot of differences between book and tv, but I was more interested in differences in this episode since Martin wrote it. So thanks, Stick, for that piece of information.

Martin's Writing
Correct me if I'm wrong, but there seemed to be a few things handled slightly differently than in the book. I couldn't help but wonder if this was because Martin wished he would've written some parts differently, or if the show wanted it to be different.

He just seems a lot more influential and important in the book. Like sort of a giggling, soft badass.

The Pointy End
I enjoyed the review, but I was a little surprised by no mention of Arya using John's instruction to stick them with the pointy end.

The Spider
How do you newbs feel about Varys? I'm not sure if my opinion of his character on the show is largely negative only because of what I pictured in the book.

Nicely done.

I disagree. The finding that Robert's heirs aren't his is huge, and Ned knows he has to move quickly to try and gain the upper hand. His honor dictates that he'll make this known and tell the king, which can only end in war with the Lannisters. I think in his head this is unavoidable, and better to be about it quickly.

Excellent Article
I loved The Wire and have watched The Good Wife since it came on. Of course The Good Wife isn't as good as The Wire, and that clearly isn't the point. But I think it's an interesting, and correct, notion that this is as close as you're going to get on network television. I've come to be as excited to

That was one of my favorite scenes of television of the year. It was just perfectly done.

Newbie Review
I really enjoy reading these reviews, even though I've read the books. I like reading from this perspective and it makes analyzing the show more entertaining. I would really like it if you kept this going.

Concussed Goofiness
Dwight had a similar experience back in season 2 (I think).

I'm all for a friendly comment environment, but how do any of these or other comments threaten or repulse you? That seems like at least a bit of exaggeration.

Kramer's golf game
Kramer isn't terrible at golf, it's just impossible to hit balls a long distance out of the sand, which is why golf courses have sand traps to make things difficult for golfers.
