The Mandarin twist was hilarious but it didn't work as well because Killien (Guy Pearce) just didn't step up to become this interesting or menacing villain. Other than the fact that he was really powerful, there was nothing interesting about him.

She makes some really valid points about the movie(s). It seems like most comic book movies like to use adult and relevant storylines without actually having the balls to see those themes till the end. For example places are blown up but dead bodies, especially those of women and children are rarely shown.
Grantland has this great article on Parks & Rec titled Parks and Recreation and the Unsexiness of Quality and Consistency. It talks about how shows like Parks & Rec are undervalued because they're so consistent and that makes them much more difficult to analyze than inconsistent shows or shows that have much more buzz…
They should have just named the movie Nice White Ladies.
Weird that this is on the most read list.
Each time I think I couldn't possibly love her more. And then I do.

It helps that Vanderwerff hasn't written this piece.
Ugh. There are really too many shows to watch on Sundays. I know I pretty much have the whole year to check them out but there's nothing like watching them as soon as they air and then discussing them with people here.
You're dead on about the Song of Ice and Fire series. What really sets it apart from other fantasy series is that it depicts so many different women characters and especially their struggle to fit into that male dominated world.
Hodor is more articulate than Steve Holt. And way less annoying.
Ok while I still find this show extremely enjoyable and with tons of hilarious moments, it needs to figure out its plots.
Perfectly summed up. Thank you.
So speaking of the movie. Am I the only one who loved it? It ofcourse doesn't beat Simpsons in its prime but it's a very good movie and more importantly features a strong emotional storyline at its core.
30 Rock's 5th season I think ranks among the best of the show. I would rate it higher than both season 6 and 7 (and I really liked those seasons).
What's even more amazing is Parks has less viewers than Community (3.8 vs 4 million) but a higher number (2.0 vs 1.8) in the 18-49 demo. That's really strange. Who would have thought Parks would be a more younger skewing show that Community?
I can't tell you how much I agree with your assessment of season 3.
Anyone else feel like this feature has like a couple of paragraphs missing?
I hope Rooney Mara is actually good in this as opposed to the time when every critic raved about her in Dragon Tattoo (I thought she gave a completely bland and lifeless performance that contained no soul or intelligence for a character that possessed that in spades)
Actually a 1.3 would be poor even on NBC. Go On was getting ratings in the 2s when it aired in the cushy post 'The Voice' slot but now that it doesn't have that advantage it has really slipped.
