Great article. I liked that bit about the mockumentary aspect of the show. Schur is absolutely right that some of the emotional moments of the show would have been hampered by being too strict about the rules.

It's hilarious that they think Zooey Deschanel and Amy Poehler's performances are of the same quality. Poehler is giving one of the best comedic performances on television right now. Deschanel on the other hand is the weakest performer on her own show.

I've realized one thing. I enjoy Ann the most when things aren't going her way or when she doesn't have it all together. One of my favorite Ann moments this season was in Pawnee Rangers when she wasn't good at any of the activities and the little girls didn't think much of her.

While there were a few weak episodes, this was still a pretty strong season for Parks. And what I really admire was how there was barely any stagnation on the show. There was a season long arc that was followed through and we had character arcs for nearly every character on the show.

It helps that Always Sunny isn't filtered by Dee's point of view but by the whole group being selfish and self absorbed. Whatever criticism one has of Dee, there are 4 other male characters who are all selfish assholes as well. So it isn't making a statement about women.
