Yeah, I think "It Came from the Nightosphere" is one of the show's best episodes.
Wait…
See, I think Herpich and Moynihan in their current incarnations are awesome, but I'm more of a fan of Sugar and Muto as board partners during seasons 2 and 3, or Cole and Jesse (who produced some truly awesome episodes in the second season). I also love Kent Osborne's contributions to the show. Somvilay, when…
I'm glad to see you guys aren't going to slam this season like a lot of fans do. Sure, it had its miss-fires (next week's "Attack of Bat Boy" AKA "Patience" comes to mind), but I think, largely, it's a very satisfying season of television, with some legitimately creepy and cool episode.
I've never been to 4chan, believe it or not. I just think PB's characterization has gotten darker and a lot more sinister.
"Jake the Dad" had a terrible rushed and simple ending, which sunk if for me. I agree with Oliver about "All Your Fault" just being a body horror display show. "BMO Lost" was OK, but I don't really love the BMO episodes.
PB went from "lovable nerd" to "lovable scientists" to "scientist" to "Nazi scientist" in five seasons.
Finn has pretty much always pined after PB to the point of weirdness. Even in the first season. So I don't really see how the writers can "get back to the roots" when that's exactly what they were doing here.
During the first part of season five, I was down-right critical of Herpich's episodes. "Jake the Dad", "All Your Fault", "Puhoy" and "BMO Lost" were all meh-to-bad. The third Graybles was also atrocious.
"What are you goofs doing? Goofing?"
And yet, isn't that how teenagers behave? Kids start off trying to be good and noble, only to be terrorized and tormented in adolescents by puberty. It causes them to do stupid, stupid things. I'm glad the show is exploring this territory. Finn will come out alright and I'm sure he'll right his wrongs, but it's a very…
You're kidding, right? Olivia Olson's voice is wonderful.
I like to think of it as cake and frosting. This episode was all frosting with zero cake. It might be tasty at first, but near the end, you'll be crazing actual cake.
I agree. I think the Ice King's segment was the best (because of penguins), but Marceline definitely should've been in either Lemongrab or Mr. Fox's place.
@avclub-ee4fadf37efceab02df97947e8d240a6:disqus I think season six, which started out OK, would have been drastically better if the second half of the season had focused on those things that you mentioned (training, leads, etc). The show tried it in a few episode like the "New Leads" episode, and focused a little bit…
"Health Care" was the first episode of the series that I saw, so it will always hold a place in my heart. When I first saw this episode, I thought it was a reality show/real documentary for about 10 minutes, and I was super confused. I laughed so hard. In my opinion, the best line is Kevin discussing anal fissures,…
Agreed. I think in the last 1/3 or 1/4 of season 9 the series was able to reel him in a bit and make him less loony. In fact, I was happy for him at the end, and his ascent to manager seemed earned and not wacky. However. Dwight from about season 5-8 was just… bad. I love Dwight from season 1-3, though.
That's exactly it. If the show came out and said M/PB is canon, I'd be all, "OK". Well, they haven't. The first time I saw WWM, I didn't detect the relationship angle, I just saw two former best friends having a spat (people that point out that PB and Marceline shared clothes need to remember that girls tend to do…
I agree that Jesse's spiritual ideas can become a little too…. weird. "The Great Birdman" was not good, and it was largely because of the weirdness for weirdnesses sake going on. This episode, however, was really fun. Jesse posted a shot of one of Aleistor Crowley's books awhile back and I'd bet dollars to donuts that…
