Time Cat was great; I also was a big fan of The Rope Trick, another standalone written towards the end of his life.

In slightly related and equally awesome news, Samurai Jack season 1 also just got put up on Netflix, and it turns out I may have developed a Japanese/cyberpunk-style boner.
Zombie Island is so fucking good. That is all.

To be fair, the word "wiener" does appear in the review, so he's basically asking for it.

Haven't listened to Writing Excuses for a while now, but Dan was always really funny and insightful when I was listening. Nice to see his work getting some attention here.

Yeah, one of the reasons that people tolerate/like Sorkin's writing is that he makes good use of humor to defuse some of the self-importance and preachy qualities. Sports Night is more of a dramedy than a straight sitcom, but there are some genuinely hilarious moments/episodes - "The Cut Man Cometh" makes me laugh…

Sorkin seems to have a habit of giving thinly-veiled "fuck yous" to the networks his shows air on, as I've always interpreted the end of his time on West Wing (SPOILERS for West Wing S4)

Ditto, thanks to Donna and the AV Club for covering this - Sports Night definitely has all the usual Sorkin flaws and annoyances, but its best moments are truly great TV, especially for an ABC sitcom of the late 90s.

That's one of those beliefs that needs no facts to support it; it just feels so right. You just know Wells was fuming that he had to deal with the intellectual/Sorkin-esque Malina instead of the charmingly rape-y Rob Lowe.
I think you meant 1995, where it would be up against one of the classics of modern film, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory. If it's half as good as that, Lockout will be amazing.
I would have waited outside the theatre at midnight if he was also getting too old for this shit, but I will indubitably watch the shit out of this movie.
Fantasies is a much more accessible sound, if you ask me - I know a lot of people prefer their earlier stuff, but "Gold Guns Girls" and "Gimme Sympathy" was what got me hooked.
Yeah, if you read the early Xanth books again (which I don't really recommend) the early signs of perversion are there. Which was probably what drew everyone in in the first place, but you gotta keep that shit subtextual. No one likes an overt perv.
