Adam and Joe
I'm another of those amusing-songs-are-as-good-as-normal-songs people, and I feel the same way about theme tunes, too.

I was also an avoider of this film when it came out - when all these real-sex movies started to hit the mainstream I was excited for some mature and thoughtful movies to treat sex sensibly, but by the time Shortbus came out I'd given up on that idea. But five years later I've been talked around to it, and am now

He's also mentioned Hal Ashby and Harold and Maude quite a bit. Good man. The lack of knowledge of Ashby in Britain is incredible.

Great, but not as batshit as I first thought
At Animal Collective's ATP festival last week, my friends and I popped into the screening of this to have a look at what was going on for a few minutes. It was basically the climax of the film, but we were under the impression it was somewhere in the middle, and that it

Me agrees
Me doesn`t want to sit twiddling me thumbs for five years, either.

Apart from, "JUUUUUST a little outside!" I always liked, "If you ever pull any shit like that again, I'll cut your nuts off, and stuff 'em down your throat."

Didn't scam anyone? Didn't he spend 30 years avoiding paying up for the land in the first place?

Ironic collections of hair metal records > Student dorm posters of Che Guevara and Bob Marley > Comparing Muse to Radiohead

If it makes you feel any better, a friend of mine was hit very hard by missing them. In a ticket-buying panic, I'd also bought some for London, so I could have some standing ones, and when I settled with seating in Manchester I sold the others to said friend.

A friend of a friend's band played on the bill with Metallica at a Japanese festival. Lars has a roadie to carry his drumsticks everywhere with him. Dick.

Sight gag
Nobody's mentioned the guy tapping his foot along to a ditty in his head without realising the elevator door was still open. So I just wanted to mention it, as it's the first thing I think of regarding this episode. I bloody love it.

Pixies reunion
When the reformed Pixies first came to Manchester (second on the bill to the Stereophonics at a stadium festival, which was probably a great shared experience when everyone left before the headliners), I was out of town, so pretty much figured that was my only chance to ever see the Pixies out the

I'd say you're right whotookmaxnoma - as with Webley's stuff, the albums aren't necessarily designed to appeal to everyone, but I think you'd be safe to invite absolutely anyone to a show in the knowledge that they'll have a terrific and uplifting time. And then the albums sound even better afterwards.

Evelyn Evelyn
My favourite material of hers has been the Evelyn Evelyn album with Jason Webley. Their live shows were a wonder for those who had a chance to see one.

Bread Sandwich
Once when I was four or five, my mum allowed me to go to school with a Bread Sandwich. That is, two plain slices of bread in between two buttered slices of bread.

I've never understood the whole bad teeth thing, since the British are the ones who get free dental and orthodontal care until the age of 19, while the Americans are the ones who want to lynch their president for suggesting they should not have to pay for some of their healthcare.

Magnolia
When I was 18 Magnolia impressed me more than any movie I'd seen. I was high off it for days, and loved the other PTA movies too. After a period of reassurance, I got in the habit of telling people it was my favourite movie.

You there. Das Racist.
Stay out of my country.

"Anyway…
"…to make the story short, I made the film and had a great time."

Satchmo
As I was watching this, Louis Armstrong popped up on TV in High Society. I'm glad I hadn't switched it off because of Sinatra.
