I think it can take a while for the correspondent's to really settle in and become confident performers. When they bring on new correspondents I'll generally give them a few months to show what they have rather than coming to a conclusion about their talent immediately.

Aww, that's too bad. He's really grown on me, and he's gotten far more confident in his work. His recent bit on the NYC bike share was excellent.

Yeah, his work on the Bugle is I think both much closer to his real personality and a better fit for his hosting stint than his in studio work. He's also stronger in his field pieces than in studio, but that's true for most of the correspondents.

I loved Four Lions, and I'm watching the 2001 Paedogeddon special. The reaction from the media was spectacular, it seems. From der Wiki: "The Daily Star decried Morris and the show, placing the story next to a separate article about the 15-year-old singer Charlotte Church's breasts under the headline "She's a big girl

It's not that uncommon. Joe Biden is actually one of the most charismatic veeps of recent vintage. Think about how personally charming George HW Bush was, or Al Gore, or Dick Cheney. Moreover, Selina was the second place finisher in a hotly contested primary and those types are often on the VP shortlist. This season

The show has really found it's groove this season. It's not as good as The Thick of It's peak, but even being a B+/A- version of The Thick of It is enough to put it high on my list of currently airing shows.

Catherine was a bit more of an entitled jerk this episode (her double major was great) but yeah, that poor young woman. She's a great character, and far more normal than anyone could hope given her parents.

It was CJ Craig, philistine.

Yep. And it's the first thing I watch where I had a chance to vent my spleen. Because the Game of Thrones recappers are lazy.

Dick Cheney's wife would have been deposited across five different continents if she tried to pull this shit. Selina needs to find herself a mute sex machine.

Yeah, I felt that way too. Mayors don't put up with this shit.

TWO YEARS AGO ON THIS DAY.

Glad they got Ygritte to give Jon some parting gifts.

Considering you can't tell the city guard apart from the kingsguard, you might not be catching as much as you think you are.

@avclub-ad45e11f2e88b8963920c79cd1d8755e:disqus You remain invested in the Starks because of the nature of the books, the biggest problem of the TV show is that it's a serialized distillation of a sweeping story. I'd recommend trying the books, and dropping them if after 100-200 pages or so you're not feeling it.

@avclub-ad45e11f2e88b8963920c79cd1d8755e:disqus If he didn't throw the kid out of the window, his sister and his children would have been killed by the king. It's wrong, but he's not lying when he says "the things I do for love."

@avclub-69514eb1d6291e21ec2df6f143c0e801:disqus SPOILERS.

@lylebot:disqus Yeah, and they did it through being completely untrustworthy bastards.

Ho… Hodor. Hodor Hodor. Hodor :(
