DEADWOOD "Sold Under Sin" Review (1x12)
“You can go now, brother.”

Saw The Imitation Game. What a dull and mediocre way to tell a fascinating story. There were a bunch of unnecessary timelines, and the characters were uninteresting and underwritten; most of them simply existed as plot points or as theme generators. The filmmakers didn't engage with Turing and his story beyond the

Veronica Mars season 1, FNL season 1, Office season 2, The Shield seasons 5 and 7.

I look at it as more you sparing him from seeing it than preventing him from seeing it. I was really interested in the story, but the movie itself was pretty bad.

As always, the action in this show is absolutely stellar, but what makes those moments even more effective is the fact that they're surrounded by really interesting themes and characters. This episode is a great examination of a post-Rabbit world, and even though the story continues to march forward with aplomb, it

Fuck yeah, Chayton Littlestone and his bow and arrow. This show is awesome.

The Shameless premiere is up on YouTube.

I'm just happy Under the Skin was nominated for something.

If you must pick one, go with Whiplash.

Also, this:

That was a pretty much perfect episode. The action, especially when set to The Glitch Mob’s “Fortune Days”, was awesome, Root and Shaw were wonderful, and the writing was rich and lovely and funny. I loved Finch teaching the Machine to play chess, and the episode was a really great insight into the Machine as an

I would rather have had them post it in 2014 as a blank article.

I hope to see some Rectify love, too. There are also a few FX shows that are from 2010 or later, unless we're counting from 2011 on (which would eliminate Justified and Louie*). And Person of Interest has a big following around here, which is great to see.

BIG EYES
Big Eyes is a Tim Burton movie on depressants. It’s also a pretty good movie, one not without its flaws, but one that delivers solid performances and an entertaining and compelling story. Burton and cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel craft a world permeated by bright, vivid colors, an environment that will

Tonight's Person of Interest is a truly amazing piece of television. We're only 6 days into 2015, but I can tell it's going to be way up there on my year end list. Plus, it has one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen in the show in any show.

OTHER THOUGHTS:

DEADWOOD Jewel's Boot Is Made for Walking" Review (1x11)
“If we didn’t hate them too much to be curious about the world, we’d wonder what they have to say.”

I would like to add Midnight Special. It's directed by Jeff Nichols, and his movies thus far have been awesome; this one also has Michael Shannon in it because a Nichols movie would not be complete without him. Also looking forward to Spectre, The Revenant, and Silence. And whenever Rectify comes back.

The script I looked at online said "you motherfucked", but that probably is wrong. Whatever the case, there is fucking of monkeys going on here, and it's excellent.
