And then the clip of them afterwards, followed by Neutral Milk Hotel over the credits. Beautiful, and this was as perfect a finale as I could have ever hoped for. I will miss this character and this show so much. There will never be anything like it, and as I've said elsewhere, it was like nothing else on TV because

Yeah, that moment hit the hardest. I also loved his "That was FUN!" A poignant, sincere, and perfect statement to sum up this show, one of my favorites of all time. Colbert is amazing, the character was amazing, and the show was like nothing else on TV for the very reason that it seemed like everything else on TV.

"Were you rushing or were you dragging? If you deliberately sabotage my band, I will fuck you like a pig. Oh my dear God - are you one of those single tear people? You are a worthless pansy-ass who is now weeping and slobbering all over my drumset like a nine year old girl!"

The Colbert Report finale was perfect. I'm going to miss the show so much.

I'm not full of myself; I just feel like polar bears are underrepresented in movies these days, which you evidently don't care about, you ignorant human.

I'm probably forgetting someone, but Cotillard, Chastain, and Adams are my three favorites.

Favorite performances so far

Have not seen yet, but will: Blue Ruin, Life Itself, Citizenfour, Two Days One Night, Mr. Turner, Big Eyes, Selma, Still Alice, The Raid 2, Inherent Vice, American Sniper, The Imitation Game, and my most anticipated:

That reminds me: the movie had some of the most beautiful set design I've ever seen. I loved the sequence where they were walking through the different cars.

I'm glad you liked it! J.K. Simmons is a national treasure, isn't he? And yeah, the only argument I have there is that because she was pretty much an afterthought to Andrew, she also seemed like an afterthought to the movie.

If the final shot of Snowpiercer did not stick with you, stare into your soul, and allow you to appreciate the true glory that is cinema, then you may have watched it wrong. It may perhaps be the best movie image of all time.

I don't know what exactly the AV Club got wrong about Nathan For You, but I would just like to say that Teti's reviews are amazing.

Personally, I'd go with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

It's on several ballots (Ignatiy, Mike D'Angelo), so I don't think it was disqualified.

Snowpiercer was amazing. A pretty original concept that somehow got even more so as it went along, and Tilda Swinton in particular was wonderful. I had a blast watching it, and it was simply one of the coolest movies I've seen.

I would add Snowpiercer, The Babadook, and Birdman as well. Great list nonetheless.

I haven't seen Two Days, One Night yet, but Cotillard was fucking amazing in The Immigrant. My favorite performance of the year, just a bit behind J.K. Simmons and Jake Gyllenhaal. Glad to see the love for the movie here.

Also from Gone Girl: the Cool Girl monologue that kicked the movie into high gear, the TV interview, and Amy's return (which was darkly hilarious).

Also, the scene at the end between young Louie and the science teacher in "In the Woods".
