Yeah, agreed. One of my favorite scenes in this episode was the one with Mickey at the Alibi—him ready to fight, but then realizing no one cares (best possible outcome in his mind, for sure) which was a really heartwarming sequence that nicely bookended his storyline this year. It was also a great scene for Kevin, too.

OTHER STUFF:

Battlestar Galactica—"Water/"Bastille Day" (1x02/1x03)
WATER—Season 1, Episode 2

I teared up at Fiona's reunion with her family. That was a beautiful scene, and it was so well acted by everyone involved.

That final scene with Carl and Frank on the frozen-over Lake Michigan, and the skyline of Chicago in the background, was so, so gorgeously filmed. Also, thoughts on the character aside, there's no doubt that that was an excellent moment for William H. Macy, especially considering how he's had to play the character

I was going to watch Game of Thrones, but then I was like "No, Shameless is the better show." So, I watched Shameless. Now, Silicon Valley and Veep.

Yeah, that Bayer-Mooney sketch was sort of amusing at first, but it wasn't until Beck Bennett showed up that it became really funny. I liked his "I'm ready now!"

Yeah, he may be gaining confidence and getting more comfortable, but it's just not translating into much when we see him. I appreciate them trying the whole memory bit, but the only reason that was fairly entertaining was Cecily Strong.

I normally dislike musical monologues, but man, I loved this one. It's Anna Kendrick, so she's obviously going to bring the energy and the excitement, and the whole thing is well-executed and fun to look at; I could say the same about the Les Jeunes de Paris sketch, which is great, as everyone seems to be having a

Game of Thrones is not an adult version of musical chairs.

I'm really excited for Silicon Valley and Veep, as well as GOT, of course.

Well, my FNL reviews returned a lot sooner than I thought they would. My Battlestar Galactica coverage will still continue, though; look for something on "Water" and "Bastille Day" in a few days.

Friday Night Lights—"East of Dillon"/"After the Fall" (Season 4, Episodes 1 and 2)

The best thing the show ever did was "Jimmy's Fake Girlfriend". Man, that was a brilliant episode of television.

Yeah, I'm always a sucker for series finales tying back into the pilot. The "Danny's Song" bit really resonated with me, as well as Jimmy's line about parenthood transitioning into good old-fashioned Maw Maw shenanigans as we saw everyone sitting at the table. The finale stayed true to the show, and it was a very

Yup, exactly!

Yeah, that's a good interpretation. I definitely have always thought that Hannibal's fascination with Will is most likely what will lead to his downfall.

Also, when Will went "Who does he have to kill for you to open your eyes?", and they immediately cut to Alana's face, my mind went "Oh shit. This is not good."

I think Hannibal's starting to realize that there's no way he can ever make Will his friend; after all, in an episode in which certain truths are forming—about Hannibal, about the Ripper's murders, about Miriam—it'd make sense for there to be this recurring theme of "letting go". Last week's near-death experience

I'm more excited for Will's reunion with his dogs than for the Will-Hannibal confrontation they teased during the second half of the promo. I would like to have a dog-centric episode sometime, as well.
