Hmmm.
That's a little disappointing to hear. I was pretty excited for this one after hearing "Island, IS" a couple months ago.

So did iI.

Well, you can't peanut butter an iPhone up your ass. Or something.

"We see a ferret licking its own testicles and we focus on the testicles."

Just kidding. It's actually Miracle Drug.

Just me?
A'Rebours by Babyshambles. Decent enough.

Me too, if it's shuffling by artist.

Live
I just saw them on Friday at the Capitol Hill Block Party here in Seattle, and they totally killed it. I like the album, and love about 5 or 6 of the songs (especially the first three tracks), but I got goosebumps when I was watching them play. See them if they come near you.

Jerry?
Which one's playing the obese black guy?

Har-Deez Nuts?

I hope I wasn't the only one who giggled for several minutes at OtP's rap.

This was fun.
I saw Oberst do a solo show where Jim James played guitar with him and M. Ward was the opener, back in like 2004. Just the three of them and acoustic guitars was great enough, and M. Ward's guitar playing blew me away. So basically songs written together plus studio time plus Mike Mogis cannot possibly

This definitely will kick ass, despite being called Monsters of Folk. I agree that Oberst's at his best when he stays away from politics and from being too goddamn depressing (ie, Padriac My Prince), but he doesn't seem to be writing too many songs like that these days. Plus: Jim James and M. Ward. So, there's that.

I feel your pain, Leonard.
I haven't played Cities and Knights, but my friends and I used to spend hours playing Catan (occasionally interspersed with a game or two of Axis and Allies). When other friends got past the inherent geekiness, they were obsessed with Catan too, so we bought the expansion pack so we could

Wait… Emperor Jim, you've ejaculated all over Ellie's keyboard too?

It'll be like Swiss Family Robinson, only with more swearing! We'll live like kings! Damn-hell-ass kings!

I definitely agree with you there. I'd think live viewer ratings are less relevant now (or at least they should be), even if they're not totally irrelevant yet.
I can't remember where I read it, but a few years ago I read an article about the supposed upcoming explosion of serialized dramas. Other than LOST and 24,

He just wants to know why it always has to be snakes.

LOST was one of the first shows that came to my mind when I started reading this article. In terms of only network TV, obviously LOST does backstory and character development better than any other show. I think it does the anti-hero better too. Off the top of my head, the only other shows that seem to attempt to have

The Deschutes Brewery alone puts Oregon above pretty much every other state. When you throw in Kettle Chips, it's almost unfair.
