"Coastline" is indeed great. A perfect final track on any Frank Black playlist.

Cult Of Ray was one of those cassettes that stayed in my car for 10 years and eventually got warped from being played so much. (Same with Teenager.) It was fun revisiting it for this piece, but it didn't feel…I dunno…important enough to include here. It's just kind of a good album with some good songs (and some duds).…

I chose Dog over Teenager because I think Dog is more representative of his solo career as a whole. He really doesn't make music like the stuff on Teenager anymore (sadly). Also, for as much as I love Teenager, I think Dog is a bit more accessible, and thus its "gateway" status.
