1. Watched Apocalypse Now and Apocalypse Now Redux back to back. The Brando stuff was sillier than I remembered.

My first job. Good call.

Since I'm unfamiliar with these "Hunger Games" and "Mad Men" you speak of, I spent my weekend entering a DUI MARIO KART tournament (I took second place), dancing at a SMITHS vs. THE CURE dance party (The Smiths won, I think), re-watching the original PLANET OF THE APES (more endless chase scenes than I remembered),

Solid. The art is great, and the story/structure is reminiscent of Fincher's Zodiac. Maybe a bit *too* reminiscent at times, but still worth a read.

Ditto with Josh on The Promise Ring for Friday night. Nursed a hangover and read that Green River Killer graphic novel on Saturday. Was delighted by funnyman Billy Crystal on Sunday.

I preminisced no return of the salad days…

The Vader and Wicket changes are awful, but what's up with Lucas' obsession with the Krayyt Dragon call? Didn't he mess with it two or three times before?

Mutants
Favorite episode. Hands down. Big Pete's poetry in the car grime always gets me.

Let us not forget the Beastie Boys style parody for Twister.

Back off me, man. Back off.

Vs.
Hysteria over Pyromania. Any day.

The credits
for "The Dead Zone" never fail to fill me with joy: Dino De Laurentiis presents…A film by David Cronenberg…Based on a novel by Stephen King…Starring Christopher Walken.

I want
a new duck. One that won't try to bite.

Maltin
Favorite Leonard Maltin quote, on "Police Academy 5": "What can you say about a "Police Academy" movie that even Steve Guttenberg won't appear in?"
