Hal Cooper: [Insert Madchen Amick laughing]

This was a pretty meh episode and I have no idea how they're going to continue this concept unless they have to keep travelling to the same time period because they've been inadvertently screwing things up, which is going to get old fast. I love Adam Pally though and Leighton Meester is so charming in this.

Hmm, I am still all in on this show (that cold open was a particularly awesome shoutout!) but this episode was a very special brand of depressing and while I'd ordinarily love the sort of grim revelations that can emerge from extensive world-building (hello, Steven Universe!), it felt like the show would've benefited

I had no idea this show even existed until today so it was a pleasant surprise to see Adam Pally and Leighton Meester on my screen again and in a pretty silly but snappy comedy. The pilot wasn't amazing but I feel like this is something I could happily keep watching.

I thought it was pretty refreshing of Archie to acknowledge that he wasn't good enough for her in the pilot (and probably his most self-aware moment in this show so far). I'm not really a big fan of Bughead but short of Veronica, President of the Betty Cooper Fan Club, I'm happy with anyone who appreciates her

Ugh, I don't need any more reasons to be in love with CW actresses! I am way too old for this(/no longer in high school)!

Val is such a babe.

I'm amazed a teen show is incorporating its adults so heavily into the action and that the drama is actually interesting. We don't even have all the crazy adults in the mix just yet! I can't wait to see how Skeet Ulrich figures into all of this.

Literally zero loyalty!

It doesn't even qualify as a plot twist really but the fact that the Coopers didn't tell Polly and Betty's subsequent shock and horror at having to tell her made my jaw drop. It was GUT-WRENCHING.

I find myself actually tuning out so I don't have to listen to them.

Okay, this show just needs to continue belting out eps like this one because this one had me SOLD. They actually managed pull all their storylines together in a really satisfying way this week and even though Betty's was easily the more interesting subplot (WE GOT SO MUCH OF THE MYSTERY PLOT, IT WAS GREAT), we

I feel like Madchen Amick is acting in a different show and it's great.

That's a great point and I don't know whether we'll be getting that sort of nuance in a show like this.

Oh, I am totally shipping it too. Lez be honest, Veronica was totally checking Betty out when she came out in that ensemble.

Okay, it only struck me while reading your comment that they outright told us the name of those two lip colours as well. That…is some insidiously genius product placement right there.

Okay, that hot tub scene was TOTALLY unhinged although I found it hilarious that everyone only freaked out once Betty broke out the syrup and uh, not when she started cooking Chuck alive. You just know that girl is going to snap sometime before the season is over and I am so scared by what might happen.

I remember reading one story in the digests where Betty and Reggie go on a date with each other after being stood up one too many times by their respective crushes, and actually hitting it off. I think they end up breaking it off because they feel too beholden to their "bad boy/good girl" personas to continue dating

wlw and I thought the commercial was a pretty spot-on homage to Kristen's queer sex appeal.

That scene with Rebecca and her father was emotionally shattering.
