That was such a master-stroke!

Wow. All those references that Bloom and Brosh McKenna previously made to CXG being a Breaking Bad-esque story are finally making sense to me. This episode was DARK.

Belated reply is belated because I'm only just catching up on these episodes now but I can't agree more. My coming out experience was very different to Alex's (let's just say it was very, very negative) but so much of what they portrayed on-screen, from the self-denial and doubt to the hesitant excitement, resonated

Yeah, I like to think that it's a nice concession to his source material goofiness since they turned him into such a teen Adonis in the show.

Her makeup is so on point.

For some reason, the tonal whiplash of this show is totally working for me. It's surreal that the Archie comics of my youth have undergone so much change (ZOMBIES!) and become a broody murder mystery so it seems only fitting that there's everything from a campy coroner to chilling moments of tension (that

Not a movie but Alissa Nutting wrote a pretty disturbing book called Tampa which is told from the perspective of a young female teacher who grooms a student.

I mean, she did call her brother her soulmate. It felt like a pretty big hint to me…

The beginnings of the Betty and Veronica friendship were my favourite part! The way Veronica was supporting Betty at (almost) every turn was so great to watch and such a small but welcome subversion of how they usually introduce two female characters and "competing" love interests.

Holy crap, that was such a good pilot. The show rides a really tonally interesting line between eerie foreboding and typical high school drama and there were some moments that felt so compellingly and deliberately staged (the fatal Blossom twin boat ride and that final interaction between Betty and Archie come to

Officially joining the conversational fray (for the first time!) because I just have to talk about this show!

In your defence, whoever proofed forgot the "see" in the concluding sentence. Damn right I'm pernickety about shit like this.

Yay regular coverage! :D

This show is weirdly adorable.  Most of the episode was incredibly silly but I liked the twist behind Mr Bradshaw's disapproval of Sebastien (really just the fact that he had a concrete reason was a nice change to the generic 'overprotective father' shtick).  AnnaSophia Robb is crazy good here.

The actress who plays Maggie kinda looks like Leighton Meester which is funny because this show is kind of the perfect antidote to Gossip Girl.  I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying this.  It's sweet and charming and AnnaSophia Robb is doing a great job.  Please make these reviews regular!

They've actually already released five issues of it.  It's called Frenemy of the State and its from Oni Press.

I saw The Cabin in the Woods, which finally got a limited release in Australia.  Loved the hell out of it.  Followed that up with Jeff, Who Lives at Home at the Sydney Film Festival and The Warped Forest the next night.  All in all, fun weekend.

Wow, I totally forgot she was on Party Down.
