Yeah that's the other thing, I love IPAs but I get if they're not your thing. But they act like they've superseded the availability of anything else. I've never been anywhere, a bar, grocery store, distributor, whatever, that just sold IPAs. Good feeling they haven't been either.

Oh my god, so awful. And they all act like they're the first one to say it. "Am I the only one who hates IPAs?!?!"

and we like tramps

Wolf Parade - Dear Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts
Panda Bear - Bros
Smashing Pumpkins - Rocket
Bright Eyes - Kathy With A K's Song
R.E.M. - Why Not Smile
The National - You've Done It Again, Virginia

I don't think there's a need to apologize, especially if she sets up next to you, that would seem to indicate she's not offended or anything.

Get over what? Half the newswires are about politics these days and we get dedicated music articles 2 or 3 times a week. I guess it would be a giant loss to go without Velocirapstar's trademark takes for a day.

"Jenny" is so good. That bassline.

Do you have to bring this shit into the music article?

I love the part where Regine does a verse in French and then switches to English for "if you shoot you better hit your mark"

I love Reflektor but I agree with that. "Here Comes The Night Time" in particular is transcendent live but kind of neutered on the record.

I too root for massive faceless corporations to make hundreds of millions of dollars. That makes me happy.

"Jennifer, have you ever taken an improv class?"

Maybe the issue is that he rarely feels like assembly line, cookie-cutter CGI-fests deserve A's, which are generally saved for the best films of a given year

Whoa, is this an episode of Going Off On A Rant?

They've recently done The Running Man, The Lake House, and My Stepmother Is An Alien. Not that obscure.

I'm assuming you've heard Salutations and just mixed up the titles but yeah, it's great.

Well said. When it first came out I put it slightly above The Monitor. Less sure of that now but who cares really, they're 2 completely sui generis masterpieces which is incredible for any band.

Pure Comedy is still #1 even though it's gloriously excessive and over- and self-indulgent and easy to make fun of.

Sometimes I can't believe that something as awesome as The Most Lamentable Tragedy even exists. Like I'll go a couple months without listening and be like wait why I am not listening to this like every day?

I still like "Personal" despite (because of?) its immense cheesiness, but yeah that album has not aged well at all.
