I prefer the stuff with Siinai for the full band sound, but Julia is great too. It's just hard to listen to all at once, 50 straight minutes of emotionally harrowing piano songs.

This is really good but the lyrics on the first 2 singles have been pretty lackluster/straightforward so far. Need some stuff about ballerina-ing on the coffee table, cock in hand, pissing in sinks, and breaking into old friends' houses and watching their home videos.
Good luck and enjoy the Cleve. Get over to Ohio City if you like craft beer and shit like that.
Been getting into the pilseners with the warm weather. Great Lakes Turntable, Troegs Sunshine are pretty good.
The Hold Steady - Same Kooks
Nirvana - Scentless Apprentice
M83 - Fields Shorelines and Hunters
Metric - The Void
The White Stripes - Black Math
Talking Heads - I Get Wild/Wild Gravity
Good list. Hasn't been a banner year yet but this hit on pretty much all of my favorites except for Trainspotting 2, which I realize is flawed but I got a lot of enjoyment out of. Plus it led me to Wolf Alice who are one of my favorite young bands now.
Same. And there's rarely if ever any actual schedule for release so you just have to check local theaters continuously hoping it shows up one day. Seems to be happening with pretty much every non-tentpole movie now too.
Hype level: dangerously high
"Hostile/confused guest" is one of my favorite types of Handbook episodes so the fact that they made an entire miniseries in that vein is right up my alley.
I was actually on board with the anti-Stillwater take until you drifted into an implicit anti-Gino take
No, it was very good
It literally is
Ever since he got sober I think. At least 10 years or so, probably more.
Agreed, and this reminded me a bit of the old HBO show Carnivale. It also used the Trinity test as a demarcation point for humanity, where god basically washes his hands of us and says "you're on your own." I miss that show.
The adult ones too
I mean I wish the music coverage was better here too but did you expect them to NOT review one of the biggest albums of the year?
Ugh that song is bruutal. In a great way of course.
That's an awesome bill. She did sound slightly different when I saw them live but in a.. howl-ier way which I liked.
Melodrama is so good. And it's old but I've been listening to Wolf Alice's debut a ton because I'm excited to see them and for the new album.
Bell's Oberon is so overrated but I feel cowed by the craft beer bullies into drinking it every summer
