I was watching the Stop Making Sense version the other day. When the camera finally cuts from the long shot of Byrne to include the backup singers, Jerry, and Bernie as the song climaxes…that's good stuff. Really good.

They actually note early in the episode that someone else is filling in for Dustin.
I've heard people rave about their new one. I've only heard the lead single but it didn't seem that great.
I finished Maria Semple's Today Will Be Different. Thought it was enjoyable enough up until the last 30 pages or so where it takes a twist I really hated.
It is fun, but if I go for any real length I end up in a sketchy neighborhood or on a wooded trail, which is not so fun.
Book - Imagine Me Gone by Adam Haslett
TV - well Game of Thrones had a pretty good season. Edit: Oh Black Mirror was so good too.
Movie - So far Arrival, American Honey, and Green Room are my favorites
Album - Lots of stuff I liked but little I loved. Maybe Blue Wave by Operators. Self-titled from Preoccupations is…
The only real exercise I do is running and it's hard to get out there consistently when it get dark at 4:30, it's cold, there's holiday shit to do, etc. That combined with Thanksgiving has me feeling like a gutty slob.
Wilco - Pot Kettle Black
TV on the Radio - Love Dog
Jenny Lewis - Slippery Slopes
Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band - Get-Well-Cards
Elliott Smith - Everything Reminds Me of Her
lol @ "Big Notaro"
Jesus. How byzantine.
Haha yeah Paul's story about that was hilarious. "Comes out on home video - 'Stephen King's The Lawnmower Man'" was a great punchline.
I'm here for jokes about how it will be long and/or in several installments. Don't disappoint me you cretins.
Ha! Even more egregious in motion.
Those coffee cups are clearly empty
Ugh 2016 am i right. Upvote this you cretins.
"Terrible Love" is amazing but there's a version on a deluxe edition or something with much cleaner production that gets even louder at the end. It captures the intensity of when they do it live. Always wish they had gone with that on the album.
Went up last night my man
"Sorrow" is up there with the most depressing songs in my library. Incredible song though. And album. "England" might be my favorite. That opening piano figure makes me swoon.
Huh, I actually like it. The elf looks positively shitfaced, which is just what I want from an 11% beer.
I think I'm going to be marathoning the LOTR movies and drinking a shitload of Xmas beers. Deschutes Jubelale, Troegs Mad Elf, etc.
