I just finished the second Earthsea book, The Tombs of Atuan. Liked it better than the first one, great strong female protagonist. Also it didn't hit home that all the main islanders like Ged are black until this one pointed out how all the Karg-ish people were white which was weird.

I'm going with this one because Heisenberg started it.

Oh I'm sure, it's just I had no context at all until last week and now I have a little.

The segment where Scott plays a bunch of songs and makes Todd guess which one is U2 was featured on This American Life, that's why it's on the front page.

Oh man, I'm jealous. Jenny is a goddess. Seen her three times and she's absolutely killed it every time.

I saw it back in early December and not even at an arthouse place.

Damn. Fairly stunning film.

Yeah

Laura Nirider or GTFO

No Matt Tong, no dice.

If I'm not mistaken he is staff-less for the rest of the movie so they don't fuck that up at least. But I agree, the Witch-king is a huge evil badass but shouldn't be able to easily defeat a Maiar like that, he's just a fallen human after all.

No

Umm Sauron lost his ability to appear in fair form in the downfall of Numenor about 100 years before the Battle of the Last Alliance depicted in the prologue. *scoffs*

I was just saying that the other day to someone who didn't care to hear it at all. Theoden is so crucial to the story and they maybe even highlighted him a little more in the films, and Hill just nailed it. And chills every time at the Ride of the Rohirrim, especially when they all chant "Death!"

I do. Speaking of which, even though it would never work on screen I kind of wish they had used the Witch-King's whole speech to her anyway.

Yeah I just saw him for the first time at the opening date of this tour and everything I heard was true. That's one for the grandkids, if I were going to have grandkids.

I can't remember how I did it, but I combined the tracks so that there's only 8, but maintained the long silence after "Gave Up" to preserve the listening experience.

Good luck! That would be amazing.

You're part of the problem

Yesterday I scheduled a specialist doctor's appointment for Thursday because I felt like garbage and now I feel fine today. Probably will keep the appointment because it's been off and on, but I have awful insurance and can't afford to go for non-reasons.
