Jesus, sorry to hear about that. But yeah, it made it sound like pressing charges is almost more of a nightmare than it's worth.

Yeah, even when people say "Eh, they're not great but they're not the worst movies ever made" I'm like, yeah, they kind of are. They're complete failures of film-making on every level, from writing to directing to acting to the outlandishly dated effects - which are in every shot of course. There is nothing redeemable

I thought it was really great, but yeah, definite world-hating material.

Reading The Lola Quartet by Emily St. John Mandel. I don't think it's very good. Very over-serious and just generally lifeless. Station Eleven may be something of a one-hit wonder.

Joanna Newsom - Divers
Talking Heads - The Great Curve
The New Pornographers - Silver Jenny Dollar
R.E.M. - Sitting Still
The Decemberists - Leslie Ann Levine

Is Spider-man in this?

Is "scattered" just the default TV Club adjective now?

Hollywood Handbook t-shirts! The t-shirts that were promised.

From Sharon Horgan of Catastrophe semi-fame, starring Sarah Jessica Parker. I think that's where he came into contact with Scharpling who is also writing for it.

It's getting kind of scary with Hayes working on that Divorce show in NY. Hopefully they can work something out.

I still listen to that 6 minute ad in its entirety every single time. And counting relistens I've probably heard it a solid dozen at this point.

Hear This for Lifter Puller's "Star Wars Hips" or GTFO.

Nah. The Hobbit movies certainly weren't good, and they have the same excessive CGI problem the prequels have, but the stuff at the core of the story is still enjoyable to me. And the Gollum and Smaug sequences are fantastic. Just surrounded by way too much bloat. And Jackson still knows how to direct actors at least.

So you weren't reading the footnotes as you went? I think you'd miss a good portion of the plot doing that.

You're not tired of this yet?

I went to this old indie theater in a hip neighborhood for the first time to see Room. I didn't know anything about it which is best way to see movie. Probably my favorite of the year so far. I was sobbing and could hear multiple people around me doing the same at one point. First half was stronger (and due to

Just saw this without knowing anything about it, best way to see movie. Probably my favorite of the year so far. I was sobbing and could hear multiple people around me doing the same at one point. First half was stronger (and due to aforementioned ignorance, seemed like whole movie itself), but I loved it throughout.

Oh shit, songs influenced by the Beatles? Groundbreaking.

Nothing new or insightful to add, but to bring it back to pop culture, I was listening to "Black Celebration" by Depeche Mode when I heard about this. So here's to the back of another black day. Fuck this world.

I looked them up immediately after watching this episode. Apparently they're pretty much only made for nursing homes and cost $6,000. :/
