Perhaps some people watched Buffy too long ago to recall just how accurately this clip parodies the style, but it is dead on. I've just watched the first 2 and a half seasons, and this clip nails Buffy for some of its major tropes. Alison Brie does a great Buffy.

I think she's probably at least 14 by the time the narrator meets her. The song starts by saying she's 12, and in 2 years she'll be a whore. In the next verse it talks about how her dad "put her on the street" and things were "going fine until the day she met [the narrator]". So, I take this as her dad started

No, that was a parody of The Bachelor and it ilk.

I watched the video on mute. I could dig it if they just made like the movie and played a Bosstones song.

I think you mean, "Outlaw Another Country! Woooo!"

How could you miss "Ruby Don't Take Your Love to Town" and the response "Billy I've Got to Go to Town"?

I agree with that, but he also kept trying to punish him, which indicates that he felt like it was still wrong. Also, the review calls his ideas scams and other comments call him unethical, so I was trying to address all of that without a lot of clarity.

Maybe I'm just unethical, but what was wrong with Bert's entrepreneurial spirit? I understand that he was running up a ridiculous credit card bill with no understanding of how that worked, but paying other people to do something you'd rather not do is normal behavior. I thought maybe the selling of cokes to kids

If he's still in a dream at the end, then his kids have their mom alive and with them. It was at that level of dream where she dream-killed herself to return to reality. She's only dead if Dom was right and he was not dreaming at the end.

I've sat in a field and drank shitty beer with high school football players (when I was one). It's not that fun.

Eric Powell refuses to meet my need for more The Goon.

Totally agree. The only problem with Acquire is that it went out of print for a while, but that appears to no longer be the case.

You're only in it for the hugs!

Damn you for stealing my line about how The Incredibles was the best FF movie ever.

One I have yet to see mentioned is the party at the end of Empire Records. "Damn the man; save the Empire!"

We apparently watched different shows. Neither Virginia nor Rosa wanted the promotion because they didn't want to deal with unhappy bosses, customers, and co-workers. I'm not sure how you made the leap from "this promotion comes with too many headaches" to "this promotion will cause me to lose my welfare".

Nonsense. Football playoffs are so luck-based that it's difficult to regard them as anything other than a crap shoot. Manning has throw for 400 yards and 3 TDs and lost. He's thrown for 170 yards, 0 TDs and 2 INTs and won. There are 21 other starters on these teams. Some of them come through, some don't. Eli was

"Whereas House’s Dr. Foreman, Boston Public’s Principal Harper, and 24’s President Palmer are all professionals in ostensibly dramatic shows[. By] expanding the available roles for black actors beyond certain stereotypes, Fox is helping to broaden the mainstream TV audiences’ idea of what it means to be a black man."

I feel like the writers thought Burt and Virginia had come up with a pyramid scheme, when they were actually correct in stating that it is not a pyramid scheme. They came up with a basic market economy. A pyramid scheme involves finding an ever-expanding base that pays money in to fund the few at the top. The
