Bran is the rainmaker.

If you watch closely, there's a very brief mention of the shape shifter before he appears. I think it may have been just passing mention by minor characters of a "man who can change his face like clothes" or something like that. Little nuggets like that are part of the reason why it's fun to go back and watch the old

Also, remember that her hallucination last season showed a frozen throne/the wall. Lends some credence to the idea of a Jon/Dany showdown in the future. I think it's inevitable that Robb will fall and in some way Jon will end up being the real one to carry on the Stark legacy.

I think Robb probably dug his own grave by marrying that girl. You know breaking his deal with that Lord o' the Bridge fella is gonna come back to bite him in the ass sooner or later.

I went back and watched season 2 episode 10 last night to catch up, so I was ready to rumble. Wouldn't say I was disappointed with this episode. It was still good. But the last few episodes of season 2 were so potent that this one felt just a little flat in comparison. There wasn't even an on-screen death (that I can

I love this show, so I'll settle for anything, but if I'm being brutally honest that was a pretty slow episode. Mostly reminding us where everyone is and laying the groundwork for future conflicts. Still enjoyed it. Especially the Lannister stuff.

Needs more Arya.

A poor man's Commando.

Yea, and for every Moby Dick there are thousands of poorly received works that are completely forgotten. I'll take those odds.

I'm not sure I'm really on board with that. I like Breaking Bad more than Friends, but then again I'm not the arbiter of what's good and bad. The average person might like Friends more than Breaking Bad. So can we really say that Breaking Bad is objectively a better show than Friends?

The logic is simple. People who know enough about the craft of filmmaking to create successful entertainment are far more qualified to discuss the merits of films than people who just sit around watching films with no demonstrated ability to convert their alleged knowledge into effective entertainment.

I don't think gross is the best gauge of a film's quality either, but it's probably a better one that reviewer scores alone. If millions of people around the world love the Twilight movies, is it really accurate to say that they're bad films? At risk of sounding like a complete hypocrite, you have to be tremendously

I think you're completely wrong and I think most people who actually make a living writing or directing for TV and/or movies would be insulted by what you're saying. They are the foremost experts on their craft and that's why they're able to create works that inspire millions.

I didn't actually hate it. I'd give it something like a 6/10. It kept me interested, but the story didn't really go anywhere. You could cut out almost any 30 minute stretch from the middle of the film and it wouldn't significantly affect your ability to understand the story. The whole thing is just bloated and

Billy, the difference is that a lot of those movies eventually became successful after their release. I'm sure Fight Club has made back most of its budget on DVD and merchandise sales. I don't foresee something similar happening with The Master. It has no traction and basically only appeals to a very small minority of

Exactly. I'm just as qualified to be a reviewer as the AV Club staff.

The world where it failed to recoup its production/marketing budget and didn't even crack the expanded Best Picture nominations. $20 million worldwide gross = money pit. Sycophantic reviewers might have liked this film, but the people who actually buy movie tickets sure didn't care about it.

Anyone can have an opinion. The real question is whether or not the opinion has any merit. I don't think all critics are clueless, but many of them have skewed preferences that don't in any way align with those of the average audience member or industry professional. The AV Club says The Master is the best film of the

I'm rooting for Django. Most fun I had at the theater this year.

The Master wasn't nominated because it was a poor film. And no, it won't
be talked about from now until the apocalypse. It will be virtually forgotten within years.
