Look, Elementary's Holmes talks about his "feelings" and let's Watson pick-pocket clues without Holmes even noticing while HE STANDING RIGHT THERE!!!

I'm sorry I was talking about one thing (Dr. Watsoin) and you were talking about another (Irene Adler),
Boy, you really have this obsession with the plane story don't you? A person can raise 10,000 objections to Elementary and you'll answer with the plane story.
+1
I don't agree categorically with everything you said, but I agree with enough to give you a +1.
[Anthony Purcell: I prefer a Holmes that is a real human being. You believe being human undermines what it is to be Holmes. We have different tastes. I can express why I have my preferences, you can express why you have yours. But I don't think that gives either position any inherent superiority.]
Well, in my opinion you are right on some of that.
You forgot to say " modern white man take" when talking about Elementary and " But white man BBC Sherlock?" Although I don't even know why you mentioned race at all.
Again let me preface by saying personal opinion…
I gave Elementary another try. I really did. I thought "Maybe I was hasty. Maybe I should take another look."
I've already done that OVER AND OVER AGAIN (see above) only to have you make more silly assumptions (not "assertions" - pay attention).
More wrong-headed assumptions. I guess you must be one of those people who if they can't figure out a magic trick assume it's the trick that stupid.
I agree with you but I suggest that the tone and "force" of the article is calculated to generate exactly the kind of participation that it has.
Anthony Purcell: So your response is that I have to concede that I'm dumber than a fictional character on a show written by simpletons?

Oh, I don't know, some freedom speech fetish I guess.
Just like I'm learning to put up with you.
These newest objections of yours are as easy to debunk as the others, I'm just tired of explaining the obvious to you. Because even when I answer you, you just pick more nits.
I'm sure that the whiz-bang crowd that loves lots of chases and fights and shooting are delighted wtih Downey's Sherlock, but they shouldn't fool themselves into thinking that it's anything like the REAL Sherlock Holmes character.
But I'm sure some fans just love it.
I have been debating (defending) the merits of Sherlock to some of the posters, but I have repeated tried to tell them that it's matter of personal preference and if they like Elementary better, fine. They shouldn't worry about the fact that I think they're bonkers.
Sorry guys. the Sherlock people are hijacking this thread.
"And he couldn't even be allowed some sort of natural evolution toward reconciliation but had to be kidnapped and put in a Guy Fawkes fire."
Ah, but the irony. Because that's how they first bonded by Dr. Watson saving Holmes' life from the cabbie.
I think to a…
"And the narrative never calls Holmes out on how fucking terrible these actions are and he suffers no consequences from them."
