No, I've read Sunset and Sawdust, a collection of short stories, and Freezer Burn. I have liked them all. I haven't read any of the Hap and Leonard books. A friend says you can really start anywhere with those, but I would really like to start with the first one.

Black Swan Green was the only Mitchell I'd read before Bone Clocks. I read Ghostwritten afterwards. I don't feel like it diminished my experience with BC at all, in fact that one is my favorite. Looking forward to Thousand Autumns!

I only know the bare minimum about Room. I read the first 8 pages and it seems like it's going to be a powerful read. Really looking forward to it.

I'm generally not on board for Odyssey-style fiction but I'd heard so many glowing reviews of this (including yours) that I decided to give it a shot.

After Thousand Autumns the only one I'll have left is Cloud Atlas. I'm saving that one for last.

Currently enjoying Drew Magary's The Hike which has been fun so far. Next on the pile are Emma Donaghue's Room, Joe R. Lansdale's Cold in July, and David Mitchell's The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. I feel pretty good about the upcoming month.

The Dain Curse is fine but it won't be your favorite Hammett.

Wait. Jared is rich?

Wait. He went to prison for murdering endangered animals?

I liked pork rinds back before they were big.

I hope that's what he says when he passes the basket.

Thanks, Ric Ocasek!

Giddy-up! A-oom-bop-a-oom-bop-a-mow-mow!

Huh. Now that you mention it—that is two different songs.

You're scared of Whovian.

I saw Bob Log III this week. It was wonderful. Next week is the Melvins.
