I mocked the notion of a movie about some asshole creating Facebook, so this time I say it will make a mint!  Computer-> Glower-> Money

Fuck that noise, it's going to be all wookies, jawas, and robots shot docu-style in the desert.

If they're going to get the jump on the other movie they should just change the name to Die Hard In The White House.  Olympus Has Fallen sounds like a lost work of Ayn Rand.

There is some continuity benefit to this scenario, since when you go back through the earlier seasons there isn't even a hint that the Observers are dangerous/ sinister bastards.

Yep, Alphas was hit and miss, but it was actually trying.  I've watched some of the other goofy action shows on SyFy and they seem like intentionally mindless, low-stakes affairs.  As mentioned above, Alphas didn't fit into the soulless bullshitathon of the rest of the network's offerings.

I just looked that up because I forgot Schrader did Blue Collar.  I learned that right before Blue Collar he wrote Rolling Thunder, the story of young Tommy Lee Jones and William Devane with a hook for a hand shooting a bunch of people.  That movie is high quality trash.  SPOILER FOR 35 YEAR OLD MOVIE Devane is a

Whenever something happens, like the sun rising, that spikes the gun buying frenzy I think "isn't everyone armed yet?"  Then I realize that it's the characters who have thirty weapons running out and buying thirty more.  And of course we all sleep soundly knowing these folks are patrolling the streets, fingers crossed

Abrams Trek was pretty entertaining by way of some likable actors, but I found blowing up the planet and Abrams' usual jiggering with time lines hard to appreciate—which I guess is all about story and execution because DS9 earns that level of stakes and mind-fuckery.  I am not looking forward to seeing what Abrams has
