Yeah, I'm aware of how different they are (I grew up in NYC, coconut macaroons were everywhere), which is why it's always confused me that they get conflated.

Moreover, why has it become a thing to refer to French macarons as macaroons? Is this an acceptable pronunciation or just general ignorance?

Wow, I must have missed that line at the hospital, because I was too busy laughing.  Then Saxon's crazy-eyed entrance that nobody seemed to notice had me laughing even more.

Mr. Mofo and I absolutely lost it at this line:
