More details on the leg grabbing are needed to determine whether the reaction was warranted, I think. Was it thigh, calf, ankle? Emphasis to a joke, or just creepy touching?

This also happened to me before a few years ago. Somehow that time was less insulting because at least they stole my stereo deck.
Yeah, in my various rereads I've definitely come to realize that St. John is a huge tool. "Hey Jane, I think you'd be awesome at this back-breaking missionary work, and no I could never take that other woman I'm supposedly in love with!"
The IT Crowd is so funny. My personal favourite episode is the one where Jen starts smoking again. Oh my God.
Yeah, normally it would just be a huge annoyance, but with various other things included it's like the car window being smashed is suddenly the worst thing that's happened to me, haha.
Thanks! I think the extra day to recuperate might be just what the doctor ordered.
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't call it a bad book or anything, it was more just not to my taste. The whole novel-building-on-other-novel thing (is there are real name for this?) is kind of hit or miss for me. It can be either enjoyable or really irritating and Wide Sargasso Sea got more of the latter reaction from me.
Personal life-wise I had a really rough weekend: the icing on the cake was having my car's window smashed overnight on Friday. So today I'm calling in sick (I call these "mental health days") and trying to get my head on straight again.
Ugh, I didn't like Wide Sargasso Sea much. I felt like it projected a lot of odd things onto Jane Eyre, and doesn't really stand on its own. Also I found that Rochester's "voice" in the novel is too similar to Antoinette's, and too far removed from the original.
I have no sense of perspective when it comes to Star Trek, but I think that DS9 eventually makes the Ferengi episodes really entertaining. Also I have the complete opposite reaction to TOS. Each episode starts out ok and then just lasts forever and gets so boring. I'm trying to watch the whole show with a friend…
I think they were talking to fast for me to pick up on what was all going on with the execution and such. I should probably watch His Girl Friday again.
For me facial hair has been something I've become more attracted to as I've gotten older. As a teenager lusting after other teenagers (who mostly couldn't grow facial hair at all yet), I thought beards were gross.
A kid I went to elementary school with had a sister named Elska, which I always thought was a beautiful name.
I have!
@avclub-32a2e71c97df5281f1324db72c73a59a:disqus Oh, bullet dodged for sure! I'm more irritated at myself for keeping him around as long as I did.
I'm not against big gestures, but I am 100% against public proposals. That's between the two of you and you shouldn't need an audience to make it meaningful.
Mine gives me great cuts, may be one of the more "decorated" hairdressers in town (she's been to some out of province … competitions? this is all a bit mysterious to me), and is also the salon owner. But because of all that, she charges around $60 for a cut, which I can't really justify paying for the simple bobs…
I have to use IE for work and it kills me. Let's switch jobs.
Exactly. Anytime I see the word "toxins" my anti-bullshit shields automatically go up.
Comforting to see other people here with awkward relationships with their moms. My siblings and I are taking our mom out for supper, although I don't think any of us has bothered to initiate plans for that yet.
