I live with my sister and her cat, and when she brought the plant into the house I was like, "Hey, did you make sure that this was ok for cats to nibble on?"  No, of course not.  Quick internet search reveals that it can make them vomit blood.  So the plant is in my room, where he isn't usually unsupervised.  Also he

Yikes.  I don't think I've ever spent a day hanging out with someone like that unless they were a friend or confirmed significant other.  First dates should probably max out around four hours or so.

@LJo1:disqus  To be clear, when I say "I" am going to be making the bread, I mean my robot baker/breadmaker will be making the bread.

My hairdresser is off having a baby right now, so I a) really need a haircut and b) am trying to decide whether I should just ditch her for someone who doesn't charge $60 for a cut.  But she makes my hair look so good!

HOUSEPLANTS SUBTHREAD?!

I had local anesthetic plus nitrous oxide for the sitting still part.  So awesome, actually.

My favourite tooth story is getting my four first molars out one day, and being on the computer afterward, not noticing I had blood dribbling down my chin because it had been too long since I changed the gauze.

From what I hear about being a guy on a dating site, ten messages isn't many.

I must eat tons of bread because I never have this problem.  When I lived alone I would usually keep half of the (store bought) loaf in the freezer and that worked fine.

One day I won't be able to resist anymore and I will read one of those things.

I think it's kind of an interesting exercise in creating a film universe that I'm not sure anyone has ever tried before (but I could be very wrong on this).  I'm interested to see how, now that The Avengers has been released, future sequels for each individual character are treated.  If they're good standalone films

Someone likes Calibri?!

I love Little Women sooo much and this is wonderful to hear.  A few years ago I discovered that the edition I have, which is falling apart after my mom's and my own multiple readings is actually abridged (this fact is shown in very small print in an out of the way location), and I haven't had a chance to read the

Ooh, good!  We'll stick with it at least until then.

I finally watched Aliens on Saturday for the first time ever (I know).  There's a pretty serious tonal shift from Alien, which I'd heard enough to be prepared for, and I enjoyed it a lot.  James Cameron needs to go back to directing sequels featuring ass-kicking ladies.

I decided to give up on The Alexandria Quartet halfway through for now, with the option of returning to it in a year or two.  I also decided to give up on Love in the Ruins by Walker Percy.  The book was too oppressive and the main character too unpleasant.  There was good stuff in it, but I'm burning out on books or

I actually got a chance to hear The Musical Offering played live on a real harpsichord the winter before last.  It was great but my ear wasn't sophisticated enough to pick up most of the puzzles in it.

SPOILER ALERT?

I was ok, maybe, but also a pretty immature idiot.

Well, there are some crowd scenes I guess.  How expensive are extras?
