This is kind of my thought, too. Who among us wasn't insufferable at 19, and wouldn't have been moreso if we were super rich and famous?

Oh, obviously. But it was a recent network show in Canada and a huge hit here.
I guess that's just not a sentiment I expected to see expressed around here.
Did I hallucinate the news that Fox was bringing back The Swan? You'd think that would be rock bottom, but probably not. At this point I don't think it will ever go away.
It was kind of popular where I'm from, but has anyone ever heard of Corner Gas? I didn't watch the whole show, but it was (broadly) a workplace sitcom set in small-town Saskatchewan, aka about as rural as it's possible to get in the 21st century.
Not American, but as an outsider I have to ask: isn't "real America" literally anywhere in the United States? I thought Canada and the Two Solitudes were bad..
I just realized I have no idea how long it actually do go on for. I used to watch it in the days of the original 22 Minutes cast, but sort of stopped at some point for whatever reason.
There are so many issues with the series but I have to admit that I just love it, except for the strange hard turn toward erotica after Clan of the Cave Bear. I get a huge kick out of Ayla inventing everything. The books are seriously more fantasy than historical (pre-historical?) fiction.
Yeah, "didn't get everything right" to be read as "got a ton of it wrong."
Hm, not sure. I wonder if this is a Canada vs America thing.
Like I said to Danny Almonte, I wasn't really holding out much hope that there is a way. And I definitely don't think quitting "for" someone would ever work. You quit for yourself or not at all. More wondering if there's a way to sow the seeds of trying to quit, if that makes sense.
"smokers know it's bad for them"

Exactly.
Ugh, I was out for wings in my hometown a few years ago and saw one of my high school teachers mindlessly walking back and forth between the VLTs and the ATM. One of the sadder things I've witnessed.
Looking for advice: is there any way to gently encourage someone to quit smoking without seeming like you're nagging?
I'll consider further. And read some of the other posts later tonight/this week!
@avclub-f7f8eb12e0f61a9321597157c0d61791:disqus Alas! My sister and I are similar enough that we can get along and agree about most things. Being raised together means we have pretty much the same housekeeping habits, and also aren't afraid to give each other shit for doing something annoying/inconsiderate. It…
I really like the high-low hemline for some reason.
Speaking as someone with a peanut and other nut allergy, most chocolates become off limits because "THIS PRODUCT MAY HAVE COME INTO CONTACT WITH PEANUTS AND OTHER NUTS."
