Trying to spell Canadian properly is really difficult, I've found.

For me it's an Air Farce sketch where Don Ferguson is a one-legged musician who stomps with his one foot.  I can't for the life of me remember the name of it, and the internet isn't being helpful right now.

I was expecting another Wide Sargasso Sea or something, and instead I got a pirate ship.  So good.

I don't remember exactly what it is, but there's a part in Headcrash involving the ProctoProd that had me laughing out loud, and I very rarely laugh out loud at books.  Don't remember much of it besides that, except for how the one dude's car is so terrible that the people in the sketchy neighbourhood start fixing it…

I just finished A High Wind in Jamaica and loved it so much.  Definitely one of the darker comedies I've read.

I always thought it was just Night Shift.  That's probably my favourite short story collection of his that I've read so far.

I read The Android's Dream recently-ish and didn't like it very much.  What I was least pleased with was how Scalzi got a bunch of attention recently for his "Privilege = Gamer Stats" thing and then there was literally one female human character in the novel.

I know that translation snobs exist, but what I would like to know is: how do you become one?  How do you learn which translations are good and which are bad?
