X-Clan made such good records, and Brother J was phenomenal on the mic. I still play the hell out of those first two albums. Also great on the mic: MC Serch. When he was in the zone, he could really rip it up.

This is good shit. A few things, in no particular order:

Z's by far the best at actually rocking a party.

Scratchcratchratchatch is goddamn genius. As is Kid Koala, who is always on some entirely different shit from everybody else. Love that guy's stuff.

Q-Bert's the best scratcher in the world, if by "turntablism" you mean "scratching" (as most people do). Q's the shit, and his skill is mind-blowing, but even as a scratch nerd, I can't stand to listen to him for more than 10-15 minutes.

It seemed like it had potential, but I guess that potential was squandered. It's kind of amazing how quickly this show found its footing and how good it's gotten because of that.
