Dr. Spaceman is a remarkable character, but a lot of his greatness falls on the actor to really make the whole schtick work. And man, did Parnell make it work.

Upvoted for A.D.O.R. reference. Deep cut!

I recently watched a video of somebody speedrunning the Japanese SMB2 with no warps. It was incredible. That game is freakin' hard. It also seems like it puts more of a premium on just going full-bore and having faith that your jumps will land, which feels counterintuitive in a way.

"We didn't sell out and get you a bunch of port-a-johns, yo!"

Yeah, it's so weird to see S1 episodes and end up thinking, "Man, that dude's such a dick." Chris Pratt pulled it off OK, but the change to Loveable Dumbass With Puppy-like Enthusiasm was a very good one.

BBT is the very essence of following a format. Its entire presentation is simply plugging lines into the rhythm of a sitcom:

This sitcom was meant to provide a steady diet of Nasim Pedrad on TV. Instead, it basically pushed her off TV for a while. That's just plain lousy.

The only joke that made me really bust out laughing was Bender discovering the Colonel's secret recipe: Chicken, grease, salt.

Upvoted for "trio of birdless Koko B. Wares," which is fantastic.

Yeah, I remember part of the "fake" thing back in the day was people saying, "Well, they know how to fall so that it doesn't hurt." So that it doesn't hurt? There's no way to do what they do and not have it hurt. What they know how to do is land so that it minimizes—not removes, but minimizes—the risk of injury.

Welcome to The Palisades, bro.

I'm X-Pac. My thing is…I'm X…Pac.

Uh! My name's Mr. Ass, and my thing is, I have an ass!

Oh my god, "Come With Me." Puffy's committed a lot of musical crimes over the years, but that one's probably the worst. Fuck that fucking fuck.

"Black Cowboys"—Jeru the Damaja
"Cowboys"—The Fugees

"Rollin' with my man Sam Sever"

"Some people do use vulgarity too much and it becomes a bit of a crutch."

He was funny as a dickish sci-fi writer in that episode of Party Down.

A lot of the old Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince records are still really good. No irony needed to enjoy them.
