"She wears miniskirts and is promiscuous."
IT WASN'T NOT FUNNY!
Fonduuuuuuuuue with cheddar.
Listen, Hollywood, last movie was really great. You were incredibly romantic and heroic, no doubt about it. And that's great. But I've thought about it, and my thing is this: Netflix is really hot. And don't get me wrong, you're cute too, but Netflix is, like, *cut*. From marble. He's gorgeous. He has this beautiful…
He sampled an Egyptian joint (and is getting sued over it) for "Big Pimpin'" DJ Quik got sued something fierce for the uncleared sample in Truth Hurts' "Addictive," which he got off of an Indian TV show. This shit is pretty common. Also: Guys like Timbaland and Kanye basically have teams of sample-gatherers for…
Fred Clark is a godsend. Wordplay! But seriously, he is fantastic.
I love "we may get some sort of gravity boost…or something." Not even Zapp knows why he does the shit he does.
This is A+ work by O'Neal. Some seriously fantastic laugh lines. I'm definitely stealing the "putting the Christ back in 'Christ, there’s nothing good playing,'” bit. I think my preferred variant will be "Putting the Christ back in 'Christ, what an asshole.'"
They just need to kiss and make up.
No dislike here, but it is merely solid in the midst of so many episodes that are incredible. It's not an episode where I think, "Oh, this episode is showing? I have to watch!"
Dodecatuple secret probation for you!
The first Austin Powers was funny as fuck. And unexpectedly so—I figured it'd be just OK and ended up laughing my ass off. The sequels, however, were lousy (Part II) and abominable (Part III).
The capper is Elizabeth Hurley's impatient "that'll do."
I saw Carvey do the "choppin' broccoli" bit, among others, at a corporate gig back in 1999. I will say, though, that he was really fuckin' funny. When he found out the CEO was a German dude, he ripped on him for a solid 10 minutes. And he openly mocked sales people in the audience who tried to give him their PR spiels…
LALD was the first Bond movie I ever saw. Pity me.
My friend DJed an event for Playboy probably about 10 years ago and claimed that Alfonso Ribeiro was by far the most popular guy there as far as the ladies (Bunnies and otherwise) were concerned. Like, even dudes of much bigger star power didn't stand a chance—the girls all flocked to Alfonso.
MC Shan claims Benny Medina initially pitched him for the role. Not sure if I believe that, but I do find it amusing to ponder a world in which MC Shan gets the Will Smith career arc.
Fun fact: Marley Marl put this song on his list of top 10 songs he wishes he'd produced.
I watched The Big Bang Theory for the first time the other day—my mom was visiting for Thanksgiving and she watches it. It really is the anti-comedy, isn't it? Like, it's not that it has bad jokes, it has no jokes at all, just a sitcom's rhythm: Line, line, laugh track. I kept thinking of Perd Hapley's quote: "I don't…
