I learned two things:

Hey "16" year old, tits or GTFO.

ToGtFO!
I admit it. I clicked the link to this story for one reason only: To gratuitously ogle Katy Perry's lovely squeeze toys. No dice!

Close-Up is shit. First, it's self-stroking, showing us how quaint it is when poor people imitate the cultural elite. Second, it was clearly made up as it went along—interviews, reenactments and court footage are slapped together incoherently in a vain effort to cohere. Third, the theme of reality vs. fiction or

MMA is like a real fight—two punches thrown and then rolling around on the ground. It takes strength, fitness and skill but it's also really fucking boring to watch. Boxing is more entertaining IMO because it demands strategy within the limits imposed by the rules. The only negative I give boxing is the outcome is

Eastwood, acting
You're surprised Eastwood doesn't turn in an Oscar performance? Has he ever? Remember Sandra Locke? How about the Scofield Kid? Compare them to Hackman, Freeman, Whitaker, Harris. It seems if any of his actors turn in a good performance it has more to do with their ability than his direction.

No Buffalo Wild Wings commercials in your market? Be very, very grateful.

Noel, Coward?

Oh Liz
It didn't take a documentary to make Liz Phair look like a dick. Just about every interview or public appearance took care of that years ago. I liked her until I saw an interview on MTV. I think it was Kurt Loder who said, "Never Said Nothing" has a jangly, pop sound. Liz, miffed, did a fine rendition of

@CanofPineapple: You're nearly 100%, only slightly erring in that you highlight Best Actress over Best Supporting Actress. Although it's flagged lately, any category that awards Mira Sorvino, Marisa Tomei, Whoopi Goldberg, Geena Davis, Anna Paquin (child), Renee Zellweger, KIM FUCKING BASINGER and Jennifer Hudson for

1.) I like the kid part. It introduces the characters in a whimsical way and sets the pace for the rest of the movie.

no comprendo
Why does this shitty director get press? A quick way to find out if someone is a moron: ask him if they like Clerks.

Disney: What's Johnny Depp's number?
I was under the impression Johnny Depp had right of first refusal on all quirky roles. That would explain why he's always

And how long will the workers keep building him new ones?
As long as their soda cans are red, white, and blue ones.

Maybe that's where he saw his first grown man naked.

Kane is a great movie. Touch of Evil would be better if a.) Heston weren't playing a Mexican and b.) that woman in the car at the beginning didn't say, "I hear this ticking in my head". Terrible line.

The evil dance is the best part. Damn near pulled a PeeWee Herman during that bit I did.

Stage production please
Awesome. The world needs more Woody Allen. I enjoy movies featuring self-absorbed assholes I would avoid were they real. It would be great if Baumbach did theater instead of film. In a town other than mine.

@Lincoln: I've emailed Criterion to ask about individual release of The Last Picture Show. Naturally, as usual, they haven't replied.

SNL?
I can't believe someone still watches—or even acknowledges—SNL. I think Lawrence Welk reruns have a higher market share.
