I feel the same way about New Orleans. When the Saints won the Superbowl, I experienced an otherworldly joy. The shit-eating grin couldn't have been wiped off of my face for days … not by a lead pipe, even. But although I'd been a Saints' fan for my whole life, it wasn't the team's good fortune that was most

Yes. After said chuckle … donate that $1 to a poor person. I'm sure everyone knows one or of one within walking distance.

I feel like that's the only way to make this have a happy ending. Feed the homeless in his town with it. Give them all $300 that the Chinese businessman failed to. If po' folks don't stick together, we're in for a long, increasingly shitty ride through the next 50 years.

I chuckled when he made it above a $1,000 … now, it's just silly. If you're reading this guy, donate that money to useful causes, keeping a $1,000 for yourself for having a funny idea and 15 min. of Internet fame. Make it count.

Never forget. Also, stop using exclamation points. That's very 2011.

After having just watched the RiffTrax Live Night of the Living Dead show, I don't think any of those scenes will ever scare me, again. Also … Barbara. Useless!

There are about a billion comments on this, but I felt it necessary to point out that in The Office, Jim DID take on the boss' chair … he split the management duties with Michael for a turn, and it was a nice moment where he both respected his boss and was overwhelmed by the responsibilities he dealt with seemingly

Cranston's in for Breaking Bad was a role he played on X-Files, ep. "Drive." Netflix it … the Malcolm in the Middle stuff was just a bonus, because they saw that he could do both family dude and psycho.

What's funny about Idiocracy? The conflict is. Average mope having to put up with the incredible stupidity and feeling terrible for where humanity has gone. The problem with comedy endings is not that they have to create conflict; it's that they have to resolve it (or don't … which would probably be better).

Nice article! Glad to see someone writing about Magic. For the socially stunted, fantasy games in general offer a method of control that's hard to get anywhere else. I also found the instant reward for strategy and creativity in the deck-building. Choosing from hundreds or thousand of cards, depending on your

Great article and insights. I especially liked the bit about how in roleplaying games, the facade of right and wrong often crumple in the face of necessity. It's pretty liberating, especially for teenagers but also anyone who has to deal with soul-crushing rules and constraints on a day-to-day basis. Also … the

Just wanted you to know that I thoroughly enjoyed the article and have struggled to convince others over the years that "The Game" is more than just a "gimmick," too. I also wanted to throw a suggestion out. I'd always hated the ending to AI, thinking it was this horrible Spielbergian schmaltz-fest, but I had a

Everything I learned about "Battlestar Galactica," I learned from watching this video -
http://www.youtube.com/watc…. How big is the crossover audience from Wesley Willis to this show? How many times do they say "frack" instead of "fuck?" Seems like that'd be a good measure of quality for each episode.

Todd, you're quickly becoming my favorite AVC member. I just searched for Gabriel Knight, thinking it might help me weed through the comments, and I saw that you asked Mark Hamill about playing Detective Mosely in a Random Roles last year.  Keep up the good work.  I guess there were a lot of kids our age playing

At least Ol' Dirty Bastard wasn't a pussy about releasing new names, and they were actually relevant to our life and times. Big Baby Jesus, for instance? Exactly. "Yasiin"? Sounds like some PM Dawn/New Human Formantics' bullshit.

Quebec
I'm a new fan and am most familiar with the most accessible albums - La Cucaracha, Chocolate and Cheese, Quebec and 12 Golden Country Hits. Out of those, I think I enjoy Quebec the most, because I like the 70's Prog Rock influences. It's not thematically tight, but reading this article has definitely got me

Where's Thor?
Will D'Onofrio reprise his timeless role as the Son of Odin?

Hallelujah
I started the first season two days ago, and I'm five episodes in. I'm trying to understand the perspective of people who think the show is boring, but being from Louisiana, I guess my vision is clouded with thoughts of how true many of the show's sentiments are to that time and place.
